Just some minor work today. Smoothed out creases on greens, flattened all ponds, a lot of optimizing detail, reshaped a couple bunkers. Tomorrow should be the start of the main elevation work: bunkers and greens, with the potential of planting trees.

Here are some screenshots of the elevation and plantings on holes 1-3. These are not complete yet but this gives a good comparison to the real course.

Worked on holes 4-6 this afternoon and hole 7 this evening. I typically compile every few holes and test the course out, mainly looking for glaring issues. I'll jot down some notes as I go through then try to fix them before I move on. For example, the first Pano I tried was floating in the sky. The second one has some graphic abnormalities. So, tomorrow I will try out a new Pano.

Once I'm done with all 18 holes, and in this case, a few extra holes that are visible from the Championship course, I will then compare the course to all pictures and videos I have, go through each hole again, and then do final testing.

The last thing I will do is test every pin location (4 per hole) to make sure they are playable on all levels and make sure the greens aren't too flat.

The course is coming along pretty quickly. I've been able to put in a couple hours each day, so that helps. The pace will probably slow down a lot in August as I start teaching and coaching again (maybe).

Elevations, planting, bunkers, and greens done through hole 11. Some things are coming along very well and others I'm not satisfied with yet, mainly trees. Overall, things are still coming along well!

I'm taking the night off to watch the Indians and Brewers games. I may do some work on another, not to be named, real course.

Worked on holes 12 and 13, two of my favorite holes on the course. Also added some houses beyond 1 green.

Trying to test it out but keeps crashing to desktop. Probably the houses I added. Will update soon.

The crashing was the houses. I will have to find some that aren't as graphically challenging.

Yesterday I worked through hole 16 but did not get a chance to test the holes out.

Some notes:
-The greens are coming along well. There are a few pins I want to make a little more difficult. They play pretty quick on very dry but not ridiculous.
-There is a huge mansion barely visible from 4 & 15 tees. Not sure if it will be incorporated yet.
-There is one invisible stream. I'm hoping that a quick flatten/optimize got the reflection back, but probably not
-The views from the tee boxes are looking good. There are a couple blind tee shots on the real course, so I will obviously keep those blind on this one.

Here is a link to some screenshots I took while testing out the first 16 holes:

Some of the pictures show bare trees. That is just an issue with the screenshot and not the course.

Here is the overhead view of the finished layout with planting. Still a lot of work to do but it's coming along quickly.

Google Map view for comparison purposes. Forgive my bad virtual penmanship.

Tested the entire course for the first time. Wrote down a few notes.

Next step is adding tees for a four round tournament and testing pins.

Here is Curtis Strange to test your course out. If you want the 88 US Open playoff outfit for 08 you need to make it yourself in TexMod's.

Love it! I watched that entire playoff between him and Faldo. The crowds were huge and the course was tough. Hope it's like that again in '22!

Didn't have a whole lot of time today but I did add some alternate tees for each round. I usually create a spreadsheet to keep track of yardages for each set of tees, so they are all fairly equal. Typically the black play a little longer and the other three are all similar.

Brookline's layout doesn't really feature a ton of alternatives. I gave three of the par threes a different tee in one round, extended the 14th for three rounds, moved up the 13th tee to make it drivable in one round of the conditions are right, and shortened the 3rd to tempt players into a risk/reward tee shot in two rounds.

Here's a screenshot of the spreadsheet.
