Tested out a ton of pins today. Made some a little more difficult and some a little more playable. Changed some trees around. Tested a few different tee locations. |

Worked this morning on testing pins. All tee boxes are now exactly how they are supposed to be. There are a couple blind tee shots, but that is because they really are blind tee shots IRL.
I'm having an issue with floating bushes that I just cannot seem to figure out.
The next steps will be: Check the course with the multiple pictures I have found and add tee markers, benches, tournament structures, and galleries. |

Tryouts for the high school team I coach took place the past two days. Haven't had a chance to work on Brookline. Will pick it up tomorrow. |

The floating bushes issues is the way certain bushes were created in 08. If you move the camera close to them, you will see they have these stems at the bottom. A few 08 Bushes do not do this nor have the stems.
What is the weed rough texture you are using?

It's weird though, because I know about the stems. But every bush I use in those places seems to do it...
The weed rough is from the v-textures library. |

Worked more on pins today. I've tested the course we'll over 20 times and it is looking very good! Still working on the bushes. 3 unplayable pins that need fixed. Adjusted the shot path on 15 because the tee shot kept aiming at the rough.
A lot of little details left, but still coming along. |

I added grandstands but got a little too ambitious. Couple crashes to desktop later and removing some structures I got it back working. I fixed the bush issue by putting some small bushes in front of the floating ones. I probably won't be able to put tents and other tournament structures just because there are already so many buildings. Next step is to add tee markers then galleries. |

Working on the tees and galleries now. I''m at the point where I will be looking for testers. If anyone is interested in looking at the course and offering some feedback, it would be much appreciated.
Looking for: Playability on expert, very dry Glaring graphic abnormalities Crashes to desktop |

Galleries are interesting. It seems that putting more sections in, rather than adding more lines to a single section, really increases the number of people. Brookline has always brought in huge crowds and I want the galleries to be as big as possible. I wonder if editing the CLS could also have something to do with that. I bet Quietly would know! |

Working on making the rock formations on hole 8 a little more natural looking. A lot of flattening with very slight smoothing. Still trying to add dense galleries. |

I think the course is pretty much done. A little work left on the galleries but that's about it. Please let me know if you are willing to test! |

We're almost there. A couple small tweaks from the awesome feedback I got from testing and it should be ready to go. I'm hoping by this weekend. |

Here is the notebook I used throughout the process. I think it shows all the things designers need to think about when working on a course. |

The Country Club - Brookline is available for download now. Big thanks Bobby, for posting all the steps of your course design in this topic. It will give some members an idea how much work it is to design a course. |
