extremely difficult and amazing fantasy course. extreme elevation change, fairways are extremely narrow and twisting, extreme canyon drop-offs and ravines which closely border most fairways, extremely thick rough, small-'ish' very challenging greens to hit from approach shots. very amazing course but -for the better and worse- it does not.....quite...'look' like that it could exist in 'reality' -unlike some other 'fantasy' courses.

i challenged walter hagen on this course for awhile......but my games was off and hagen 'heated up.' abraham lincoln -who played alongside us- didn't shoot extremely poorly....but not 'terribly-well,' either.

great very challenging course. fairways twist and dogleg. water and sand comes into play on many holes, esp. around greens. not too 'pinocchio' shabby.

superb and very difficult 'fantasy' course -that looks like it could be a real-life course. textures are high-quality. the background vistas of the bunya mountains in australia look very authentic and high quality. there is much elevation change -giving this course an 'alpine course' quality. some fairways are ridiculously-narrow, most fairways are twisting. greens are somewhat vary from small to spacious but all have much undulation. golfing on this course when the greens are fast is extraordinarily difficult.

i beat a bobby jones, jr. in his prime in stroke play -primarily because he messed up on a few holes shooting a nine. jar jar binks -the greatest politician of all time- didn't play 'terrible'......but he didn't play 'terribly-good,' either......

your hazeltine national for tw pga 06 is the first time i have ever golfed this course. great, great course design and replication. sets up perfectly for a pga championship style course. the course is extremely long, has lots of elevation change and twisting fairways. there are many, many bunkers alongside the fairways and around greens. the water is the bluest i have seen -this side of 'genosha.' the rough that lines the fairways is pretty thick. the fairways are not too narrow; overall this isn't an 'overtly-difficult' course, but challenging, nonetheless.

swanky-dog course.

a very interesting ... in some ways 'un'-southern californian-ish course. this course plays and feels like, instead, a true 'alpine' course: conifers line the fairways....most fairways are very long -- some straight some very twisting -- and most holes exhibit lots of elevation change. greens on most holes are small and challenging with greenside bunkers encircling most greens. this is a fairly challenging course -made that much more challenging due to the very thick rough which lines the fairways, esp. of every hole. if you miss the fairway, making par is very, very difficult.

i played against a calvin peete in his prime. i had an 'off' day, though he is clearly better than i am, but i did mount a charge, of sorts, on the back nine finally getting my first birdies of the round...

hawaii is a mixed 'pinocchio' venue, ironically (or is it 'moronically?) for golf courses. based on my experience of watching pros golf in hawaii on t.v. ...... as well as having golfed 7 or 8 golf courses in hawaii via pc golf games ..... in my opinion, some hawaiian courses are spectacular -in terms of scenery and/or course design- and others just 'mediocre.'

at the beginning of every year, the "kapalua plantation course" on the north side of maui, hosts the first pga tour event. the course design as well as the ocean vistas are spectacular and truly 'hawaiian-esque': extreme elevation change, much variety in course layout from hole to hole, extreme undulation in fairways and greens. the 'sony open' in oahu hosts the 2nd pga tour event of every season. it sharply contrasts kapalua plantation: this course is quite flat, most holes seem fairly similar to each other, etc.

having golfed the "kapolei" golf course for the first time ever in tw pga 06, this golf course to me seems somewhat 'underwhelming' and the design seems very 'generic.' it seems like a 'fine' golf course, per se -the palm trees and lakes are 'eye candy'.......however this 'eye candy' is offset by 'ear salt': the constant and extremely loud chirping of a great variety of 'audubon specimens' made golfing this course almost 'torturous.' the actual course design is simply..... 'okay'.....but it just lacks any personality. for me kapolei isn't quite a 'keeper.'

off the record, i almost.....almost.....beat a 'big jim taylor' -who was in his prime- in head-to-head stroke competition on kapolei. what finally 'did me in' (as bruce lee would say) was the fact that my back nine was pure 'par excellence'....or shall i say 'par mediocrotis': i shot par on holes 10-17....it wasn't until hole number 18 that i finally shot another birdie, too little too late, for a very respectable -3 under par round. big jim taylor ended up getting a 'little hot' on the back nine and ended up shooting -4. we both played alongside a very.......*ahem*.....'strange' half-human half-horse..................... creature.......*ahem*......of sorts.......*ahem*.....with 'orange hair' who shot like a 50 over par or so........*ahem*........

an absolutely amazing and original fantasy golf course. the design has everything and the 'kitchen sink' thrown in: a very wide variety of grass, water, flower, building, tree and other textures. all textures are the highest quality textures of all golf courses that i have played in tw pga 06.

course layout is extremely varied from hole to hole. extremely twisting fairways, extreme slope in fairways, elevated greens, etc. most fairways are not very narrow and most greens are very spacious -thank goodness- or else course would be unbelievably overtly-difficult. as it is the course is extremely difficult but not so much that it's 'un-playable.' fantastic course design.

playing a round in this course, i actually ended up beating spock in head-to-head competition.

knob noster is a very nice, pleasant woodland/park shtyle golf course. i assume -from the name 'noster'- that this is a 'catholic'-designed course: padre "noster," "madre noster," "cosa nostra," etc. whatever the hell 'nostra' or 'noster' means, i am not sure...

in terms of flora and course layout, the course reminisces of several that i have played in the 'heartland' of the usa -such as cog hill (chicago) and the fuzzy zoeller-designed covered bridges golf course in his home state of indiana.

i shot a respectable 3 under par -in the process wasting an aging tour pro, ben crenshaw, who shot a 4 over par. we bothed played alongside a half-human half-ape......mongrel of sorts.....who shot a dismal 44 over par. 'simians' are not good golfers...

great fantasy course. classic design. course is very, very difficult but looks and feels like a real-life course and isn't overtly difficult.

i shot a respectable 3 over par; abraham lincoln -though very 'rough around the edges'- did shoot a very respectable 21 over par. i challenged golf pro adam scott -winner of the masters a few years ago- for awhile. he eventually pulled away and shot an even par.

very nice fantasy course. very challenging. fairways are very narrow and very twisting. water, sand, and/or very deep rough comes into play on every hole. on the downside, a minor con is that the distant background textures (hills) on this course are very low resolution.

i'm kind of like a 'jap': much like the japs gave the americans 'hell' for a short period of time in wwii -- i gave tiger woods 'hell' for a short period of time during our round on this course in which we were playing against each other. in a manner of speaking, i must have awaken a 'sleeping giant': on the back 9, to my dismay, tiger woods began to increase his lead over me exponentially.

i'm like a 'jap'.......yeah, a true bona fide 'jap'......

very nice rendition of the actual real-life course: textures (water, trees, esp. rough) are very high quality. the distant background tree textures, however, do somewhat 'cheapen' the quality of the course as they are blurry and low-resolution.

the course itself -for the better or the worse- looks and plays like that it has been 're-designed' as a bona fida "tiger-proof" course: nearly all fairways are very long and very narrow. pretty much all fairways seem to be about the exact width -no variation. all greens are very small. water does come into play on some holes -esp. a few par 3s. this course layout -with dense trees heavily lining all of the fairways as well as thick, deep rough- is a perfect setup for a u.s. open.

excellent, superb course design. ocean and countryside vistas are very good and scenic. the actual course itself is extremely varied from hole to hole. lots of elevation change, lots of slope in fairways and greens. many well-placed fairway and greenside bunkers which further increase the challenge of golfing this course. many challenging elevated greens. one of the best courses i have played for tw pga 06.

a great replication of a great nicklaus-designed course. scenery, if anything on this user-made tw pga 06 course might even be slightly better than the actual course. great pinocchio job.

as a 'life-long' 'connoisseur' of "pc golf games," one of the 'earlier' golf games for the pc which i owned back in around 1996 was called "jack nicklaus 4: golden bear challenge" or something to that effect.

having owned that pc title, i became knowledgeable of jack nicklaus the 'golf course designer' much more so than i did of jack nicklaus the 'golfer.' i immediately took to jack's golf course design philosophy -just from playing that pc game. i have come to realize that "the golden bear" has the uncanny knack of designing very challenging courses that appear as though they 'were made by nature,' rather than 'man-made.' over the years, having golfed many courses on the pc, i feel that nicklaus is my favorite golf course 'designer' -more so than any other designer whether it be pete dye or any other renowned greats.

one of my all-time favorite courses is the jack-nicklaus-designed castle pines golf course in colorado -an extremely challenging alpine course which used to host the annual pga event called "the international" which was very popular with pga and international players -- and which consisted of the 'stableford' format of scoring.

i consider the "nicklaus north golf course" -having just now played it in tw pga 06- to be 'solid nicklaus' but not quite a 'stellar' nicklaus design: many or most fairways are very narrow and twisting, the alpine vistas are spectacular, and water comes into play in several holes.

mocking birds and purple warblers chirp incessantly throughout all holes -so much that it is pretty much 'torturous' to play this golf course without earplugs. though i'm no 'botanist,' simian screams most reminiscent of the sounds made by 'holwer monkeys' also emanate periodically from deep within the forest to torment the golfer who dursts to challenge this course...

i nice 'pleasant'-donkey fantasy course. water which comes into play on certain holes and the 'pinocchio' ducks and gooses are a nice addition. many greens are hard to hit because they are small and deep bunkers surround them. not too shabby of a design.

really, really nice pleasant-"donkey" (*ahem*......i would say 'pleasant'-ass.....but that would kind of sound 'vulgar' and 'immature,' wouldn't it? which is why i prefer to use more 'mature' phraseology by utilizing the suffix '-donkey' in lieu of -'ass.' i'm kind of like andy bell of erasure; "i hereby do swear to live my life according to grace.") replication of the real life golf course.

this replication of oakmont is very, very well done: course colors are vibrant and the flora - thecombination of decidous trees and conifers- is very nice and pleasant. course design is a true 'bona fida' u.s. open-style course: very long and narrow fairways, some of which have lots of twists, and small greens. not much elevation change, there is quite a bit of undulation in the greens.

even from the middle tee, i was unable to reach more than several par 4s on my approach shots......and was not quite able to reach one or two par 3 greens -even from the tee. exceptionally-long course and excellent design.

brutally, brutally-difficult -- but great fantasy alpine course: fairways are very narrow and many are twisting. all holes are heavily encumbered on all sides by very, very thick rough. there is much elevation change on nearly every hole, and many greens are elevated with well-positioned deep bunkers and thick rough. excellent golf course!

having spent much time in the rough, i double-bogeyed or worse nearly every hole. i finally managed to par the last three holes on this course...

i wasn't able to find out whether this design is based off a real actual course or not....but it is a fantastic course design with great vistas. fairways are very narrow and twisting, there is significant elevation change. course is lined with extremely deep rough. greens are very, very small. an extremely challenging and diverse alpine course.

a few complaints are that my framerate lags when playing this course -more so than any other golf course i have played for tw pga 06. water textures are only so-so. otherwise a very well made course...

it's very nice that someone decided to recreate a golf course that is often ranked by golf magazines as the most 'beautiful' and 'difficult' golf course in the world. i actually have never played this golf course on any other golf pc game -other than tiger woods pga tour; so this was my first time ever playing it.

photos of this real life golf course indicate that the trees which encumber the course are supposed to be much more dense than the course looks like when playing on it in tw pga 06. otherwise, the course does play 'fairly' difficult but not 'overtly,' in my opinion. very thick rough and extremely large swaths of sand encumber the entire course; there is significant, but not too much elevation change on certain holes, and the greens do have plenty of slope. fairways don't 'dogleg' too much and nearly all fairways are quite spacious, and thus not difficult to hit from the tee. well placed bunkers -esp. 'greenside' do make the course fairly challenging and some are extremely deep.

very nice and scenic course. well done.

prairie dunes is a very nice -- real-life golf course set in kansas amidst rolling prairies and sunflowers and very deep weed/rough. it has hosted senior pga tour events -though i don't believe that this has been a 'regular' stop for the champions tour in quite some time.

i used to own this course in my links ls golf game. prairie dunes greens seem to have more slope and undulation than any other golf course i have ever played, ever.

your recreation of prairie dunes...doesn't quite emulate or accurately re-create the sheer amount of slope that the greens are supposed to have. otherwise, your re-creation of prairie dunes does seem to be close to 'spot-on' and very well done.
