"to be honest that was something that I liked about the corses is the two pin system especially for tournaments. It is the only realistic way to assure everyone plays the same pin locations. 4 and 6 pins courses mean its a crap shoot. Oney guy may get an "easy" pin that is easy and another may get one that plays tougher. So even though your playing the same course same settings it isn''t fair."

Who came up with that A and B two pin system and never got credit for it? :)"

I believe it was Nick from england, he was the WT tour director at that time"

Nope. Try again.

I do believe it was Bill,Shadow & Andy B who originally came up the with idea but Nick & I did help test the theory! :D

PS: I''''''''m pleased to announce that Jim has just made a statement on the CGX Facebook page and I''m delighted to announce that The CGX Tour will hopefully be back online Oct 17th . C:

Thanks for the good info Pete.
Since not everyone is on Facebook, i copy the message here from Jim on Facebook:

This is what Jim said on Facebook:

UPDATE!! CGX is not gone. Currently working out a hosting issue. Due to my current contract with security requirements that I cannot elaborate, my work situation has kept my more or less incognito if late.

The tour website will be back online on Friday evening CDT, October 17.

Check here for info before then.

Thank God, I knew Jim wouldn't just shut everyone out by closing the site down for no good reason, be great if you came back Bill, now I guess their is no chance their is going to be a influx of new members, choosing to play online at the CGX, even if it meant playing clams if they do not wish to play the US and World tours, at all levels of play, Glenn I am glad you stuck around sir, place wouldn't be the same without you.

I don't know were shadow and Matthew are these days but be great to see them come back to the site and hopefully we can get Lary back as a part of the design team, if I had a go at anyone that trashede the site, while it was down, I hope you can understand my reasons for defending the CGX that I have been part of almost since its inception back in 07.

Cheers

I think you would have a better chance of winning the lottery Bruce then seeing Bill back;) . As I said though I still consider him a good friend and had a blast doing courses with him even when there were times it was very hectic and pressure to get them done in time for tournaments. Still it was fun shooting the bull and hammereing away at making final tweaks to make a good challenge for the members. Many a long night we both put in to make it happen.

After my hard drive crashed and I just went with windows 7 pro instead of Ultimate( money being the factor there) I just never got back into designing again as it was far too much of a hassle to get someone else to compile everytime you wanted to check out a change in the build. As I mentioned though I think this Winter I will give Unity an honest go, I mean what else do you do in January when it can get to be -40c and colder at times and that can last until the end of March? :)

Seriously what difference does it make? Bill was a member at that time though so he would have some knowledge of it. Again though what is and what was, was.

It happened during a period when the founders/senior staff at PGAX for various reason werent around for months. Courses that were due to be played had been abandoned or not even started in some cases, there were no contingency plans to make the courses needed to fulfil the upcoming schedule and the organisation was virtually zero.

Bill(Bullpup) talked to the few remaining committee and designers and we got together to try to salvage the rest of the season. He allocated courses to us and we all spent god knows how many hours frantically designing them from scratch to get them out in time. Spending 16 hours a day on this task wasn''t unusual, it was hard but it was also great fun, as we all worked together helping on each others courses, testing them, fixing them, and finally getting them out on time. I''m talking about making courses from scratch in as little as 4 days, and making sure they were up to standard. We were so pleased that we had got the job done, and despite the hours we put in we were really buzzing about what we had accomplished....then the bubble burst.

We eventually got everything done that we needed to finish that season and then went on to plan for the next year. It was at this point that problems arose. Zee re-appeared from wherever he had been and decided that Bill (or any of us in fact) didn''t have the right to be allocating courses to designers. One of the reason he gave was that designers shouldn''t "cherrypick" the courses they would build. Despite the fact that we had kept the site going, we were to be marginalised as we weren''t founder members. The schedule Bill had spent so much time and effort on was scrapped and courses re-allocated according to Zee''s whims. (BTW he managed personnally to snag the Ryder Cup course for himself (Cherrypicking... surely not).

This was the start of the bad vibes in PGAX and the fallout led directly to Bill being banned and people like myself and Mike(Shadow)leaving. There were other reason too but all directly related to this.

In short, if Bill hadn''t stepped up when he did we wouldn''t have had the courses to finish the season. I''m not saying PGAX would have folded but who knows.

Bill was treated very shabbily by PGAX.

Sorry but I just don't get what good does it do anyone to be rehashing events that happened years ago? What has happened in the past may not have been right or fair or even just but still is it really going to change anything to be digging up old dirt?

I'm not pointing fingers on who started what but seriously is going over this stuff again and again is it going to change anything? The chances are no it isn't.

Bill, Neil, Mike, all I consider good guys and wish things had worked out differently as I do miss them on the site very much but that is nothing you or I or anyone can really change now.

I really would like to see the bad feelings get forgotten or at least not stop people from moving on.

This whole taking shots about who said what or did what is actually pointless and really accomplishes nothing besides bring up old hard feelings.

It reminds me of an old movie line "cant we all just try and get along?" I really hope that this will happen if not now then in the near future.

Now that there has been some sort of statement from the brass at CGX, perhaps it's time to put this thread to rest.

There are a lot of good cyber-golf peeps out there, perhaps this can be a jumping off point in getting everyone working together again in some sort of fashion for the future of the game? Just sayin'
