Exactly Sandie, JB comes on this site and knows that 99% of us do. Just a quick note to say "we got hacked" or "technical difficulties" or even "I quit, they need to find someone else"...ANYTHING to clear the air and stop all the discontent and distrust that is building up. And I am sorry for anyone that has recently paid. By the way, you can get your overpayment back from Paypal...just call them. Anyone having TW's golf withdrawals, you can always join the other site I play on Golf4Fun. Although the staff is overworked and sometimes a bit sharp with it's answers (and it is because they are overworked, like JB was) it is a great site to play with great golfers, many from CGX play there as well. Here's hoping someone speaks up soon and tells us what has happened. Later gators, Kristen (aka phillefty, krissy hynes, grumpy cat)

"Well there is absolutely NO excuse for not posting something somewhere about what has happened to the CGX site !!! They could post here, which would be the most logical or their Facebook site or even an email. I could see for the past year and a half one by one people that were staff members leaving, but to shut down without notice, nevermind refunding the new members that might of just joined. If they thought the site was dying before, well this is about the worse Public Relations job I've ever seen. Which makes me seriously believe that we may never hear from Jim or JB or anyone else associated with CGX. It was fun, completion was good and the people even better. I hope someone that has the knowledge and the time will start another TW golf site, and please NOT a Case Ladder site, we have too many of those already! But a site you can come on and play your tourney any time day or night and you don't have to look for a partner to join you... If nothing else there is always Golf4Fun where it is golf for free (although the gentleman that runs it is having a little financial problems because of his health and donations are welcomed). I hope CGX is not a thing of the past and I hope to see my many friends and competitors soon. God Bless you all, sincerely, Kristen Robins (aka phillefty, krissy hynes, grumpy cat)

No need to be immature about the situation, the courses are far from crap. The people that make the courses are not CGX, they have made many of the courses you presently use now...are those crap? A very high percent of them are very accurate and playable renditions of the real courses they are based on. Are you trying to alienate the designers from your site as well, or from making future courses for anyone to use? Think about it.

It's BS like this that divides the cyber golf community, not something that helps keep the game alive. How about doing something positive and just welcoming as many players AND designers to G4F? Wouldn't that be better in the long run for the cyber-golf community as well as G4F?

Hi guys, I''m also very disappointed that no explanation on the cgx situation has been posted here by an admin - I did expect JB to post here with some kind of update. My hope was that it was due to a server or technical problem, however the lack of any info does I fear point to a more serious problem. Possibly my conclusion will be proved wrong - I sincerely hope so.

Only time will tell
John.

"If it was a technical issue I would have thought an update here would have been done. The fact that a recent post on CGX starting out as a comment regarding the non start of "The Ryder Cup", then being hijacked by a vent regarding the tournies may have hacked a few people off.

Lol as if there has not been other issues that have been debated before and this on was quite tame compared to some of the past ones.

Further more if it was that they didn''t like where the post was going they would have either locked the thread or suspended somone or both.

Sorry but I can''t see that post or any comment that were made in it being the traw the broke th camels back. As I said there have been many oher things debated far more hotly then this ever was.

Just another "classy" move by CGX.
Some of us saw their true colors years ago and jumped ship.

We can t judge yet, because we don t know for sure what is going on.
I will send a message now to someone who might know the answer about the CGX mystery.
Hopefully we will receive a reply soon.

Well hopefully you get a reply and can let us know. Upsetting as it would be if in fact it did shut down without prior notice its still would put an end to the speculataion. One way or another it would just be good to have some idea what is going on.

I have to admit that although I didn''t really come over very well with many of the staff,members & other Admin at PGAX/CGX on many occasions I will always appreciate the many unpaid hours folk like Andy B, CJ53 & JBCalg put into the site each week.When everything was running well I think it was in a league of it''s own regardless of what folk might say.Will we ever see a full World schedule online tour again? Probably not in my lifetime. C;

Over the years nearlly all the best designers contributed their efforts to PGAX/CGX: I would like to say a big thankyou to all the folk that contributed such as but not only!: Bullpup,Sandsaver,Shadow,Bladerunner,Munroco,RobC,BruceR,TeeoffGolf,MSRGolf and might I mention Tee Off Towersey who joined the CGX team only recently and had prepared a brand new build for The London Golf Club International Course. I hope you upload it here at CDL soon Lawrence C:

I can only speak for myself but I will miss CGX a great deal and can only hope Jim is okay and someway or someplace maybe some site can continue what CGX offered asap?

Pete.

Imature heck I''m only telling it like it is.Ever notice how much better the courses that get posted here are so much better than the so called cgx versions that are made by the same designers? It''s because the great designers post the renditions as they intended them to be before good ole Jimbo gets them and ruins the greens and such. Some of the best course designers out there are my friends and have designed there and quit there for that reason.CGX has been nothing but bullies that take your money for nonexsisting expenses and then treat thier players like crap.I know they''ve done it to me.And furthermore there is no way it cost the kind of money they collect to keep there deal going and from being behind the scenes at a golfing league and researching to start my own thing someone is filling thier pockets over there pretty full.Your right maybe i shouldn''t comment on the issues over at CGX but all you People are living proof that cgx is not the greatest place to play online golf and has no loyalty to the players and more importantly People that have supported them over the years

I will refuse to comment on your condemnation of the monetary aspect of CGX as I can only say I trusted what was said to me some time ago by the man at the top.
That said until recently I believe the product that was the CGX ''''tours'''' was top class as far as content & available realism is concerned and some of you folk may bitch about playability probably due to old, dodgy CPUs or just through personal grudges against the site but I''''m pretty sure that any self admonishing human being would acknoweldge that CGX offered in many cases the only available computer versions of many World Class golf courses each week and I believe the standard was only improving over the last year imho!

Kind of getting off topic here. Yes I know some have had a beef with PGAX/CGX or at least an issue with some people there. That being said those that are still there are just curious what has happened that the site is down? Not really meant I don't think for a "I hate them" or an "I love them" type posts.

All anyone is really wondering what is going on. If you don't like them and are no longer playing there is it really an issue that interests you anyways?

I have met some very good people through the site and some are still there and some are not but that doesn't change how I feel about those people. Its anyone choice on where and how they play and I respect that. Again its the people that I have made friends with through the years being at PGAX/CGX that I value the most and has very little to do with the game or any site. Face it the game is good especially for its age but it is an old game and not much besides where you play changes. Its the people and the time shooting the bull that makes it fun. Without the people its gets quite boaring no matter what site you are on.

Sad as it is, I would have expected that comment from you Bill, despite the fact many good folk are frustrated, confused and saddened by the situation, you still manage to to write some crap about your time at the site, I cannot believe I actually had some admiration and respect for you at one time. Gunpower may not have left the site under the greatest of terms but at least he has the respect, despite being an admin here to come into this thread and try to do something constructive.
All any of us want is an answer regarding the site, and JB may no nothing more than we do, so how about laying off, If I were him and read these comments I wouldn't enter anything constructive either, incase I was in for an ambush from the same frustrated, confused lot, Jim is a hard working decent human being, as he has not been on the site for months, I can only conclude that something terrible has happened, hopefully we will know one way or another.
By the way none of my so called crappy courses are to be placed on this site from the CGX, This 4fun wouldn't want to use them anyway.
I am finished with designing TW courses if The CGX is gone.
If my comments get me banned from here so be it.

May I suggest to all the good folk if you haven't yet found your way to Perfect Parallel, Perfect Golf, you do so, the genius behind it and from what I have seen it will blow everything else out of the water for a true Golf sim, the likes we have never seen when it finally gets released.
I looked at The Golf Club and can honestly say TW 08 looked far better and more realistic considering its 6 years old now, pretty dissapointing.
By the way Mark its not free, so you may not be interested in that or this one.

Please keep the petty childish comments to yourselves, it does nothing to the conversation here and only makes you out to be an immature a-hole. Remember Mark Twain: "“It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”

On that note, for the sake of having a little fun now and then lets try to band together as a community and get EVERYONE on the same page (or at least the same book). Come together to support THIS site which has been here through good times and bad, as well as whatever site you like to play at, share ALL the courses so that everyone and the community can benefit. Lets all give this one more go and have some fun.

Thanks to Jo Summer and his crew for hosting and improving their site (Golf-4fun), lots of good golf going on there people, join up and check it out. The more the merrier!

To all the designers/architects, thank for all you do no matter where you upload your courses. There are some fabulous and creative designers out there, without you this game would have died about 5 years ago. You don't get thanked enough, we know that and hopefully will change that.

Finally, thanks again to the folks here at CDL, you guys also do a great job of hosting and archiving courses, tutorials, gameplay additions and extras, and providing a place for players and designers to hang their hat no matter what the affiliation and background is. You have been a steady and common thread through the rise and fall of a number of cyber-golf websites. Hopefully people will join up here, contribute in positive ways and squeak a few more years out of this game.

I'll step down of the soapbox now...keep it in the short grass, respect your fellow golfers, and most importantly, have fun.

Fore!

Kinda Final now, CGX no longer exists..URL has been removed, no more speculation required. I''m kinda sad but not surprised and feel sorry for all the Loyal Members that have been kicked in the teeth like this. Thought Jimbo was made of better stuff....bye all

BTW, incase anyone doesn''t know I was Intoxicajin on the site, I think the Chinese Flag probably gave it away
