I like you and dozens more would like to know the same thing, I cannot believe that Jim would close the site down without notification, it may be just that what has happened requires Jim to fix and he hasn't been seen on the site for several months now, so I have no idea, hope Jim is alright. I know JB is quite talented, but I don't think he has the necesary knowledge to fix what is up, It could be that the site was hacked, or a new site is being prepared or that the software for the site is being updated but I doubt it would take this long, could I suppose depending on how busy Jim is, or were Jim is, again I doubt it is any of these except hacking perhaps would see the site just dissapear without notice for this long. |

If it was a technical issue I would have thought an update here would have been done. The fact that a recent post on CGX starting out as a comment regarding the non start of "The Ryder Cup", then being hijacked by a vent regarding the tournies may have hacked a few people off.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |

Not much was said to get PO''d about, people were just wondering what was happening.
Kinda odd to just go off the radar completely, someone usually surfaces here or on FB to gives peeps a heads up.
Perhaps we need to bring Mulder & Skully out of retirement? ;)
Odd, JB was here and left with popping in... |

Having noticed that PGAX and CGX design courses are now appearing on this site, can only make me draw one conclusion it seems. Bye Bye CGX and all my good friends. |

Bruce we have periodically released courses at CDL for years & I have been intending to upload some of the WT courses that are no longer used for some time,I''ve just not got round to it due to the amount of new builds we had to do at CGX this year. Having said that I can''t see any recent CDL PGAX/CGX uploads atm?
I also don''t see why that should be seen as a death nail for CGX tho,as I say it''s something that we have done from time to time mainly to keep folk aware of the site.
As most of the older members know the numbers participating on the tours have been steadilly dwindling for the last 3 years. It became very apparrent we were struggling when CJ53 retired I think as he was carrying most of the workload keeping things upto date and ticking on the US side but I suppose it is inevitable that the end has to come at some point.
I also sincerelly hope that the time has not yet arrived as it is still a hugely enjoyable experiance for me and the other diehard CGXers that still play TWO8 I believe, especially since the launcher has been working so well since the last fix. C:
Jims enthusiasm, overall absence onsite and lack of contact over the last months have been a worry to my mind for sometime. I can totally understand that he is very busy with other work & life matters but I hope he can at least confirm the problem or the total shutdown either way soon as it would be a terrible way to end The CGX Tour like this without any notice or explanation. Pete.

I have been hoping you or one other of the staff would come on site and give us some form of an explanation as to what is going on with the site, as far as the courses appearing on the site, you know more than I did, as far as I knew all the PGAX and CGX courses remained at the CGX, but thanks for the insight, gives us some hope, As I stated above I would find it incredibly difficult to believe that the Jim would just allow the site to dissapear like it did, Good to see you at PP.
If Jim doesn't have the time, perhaps another of the original PGAX team does in Jeff Jarvis, who from what I understand has as much knowledge as Jim could look at it.
Cheers. |

This site apparently has more than 19000 members, what the hell is wrong with people, surely a small % of them still want to play golf online, so why not come over to CGX, or could it be from what I have read in older posts, they want something for nothing and are not prepared to pay the annual fee for the chance to play some of the finest ever courses built for TW. PGAX was the place to play the finest golf courses ever produced for the game by the then Design team. I guess the reputation they built up and carried over to the forced name change CGX meant nothing. |

If CGX does disolve, who holds the say on the courses,Designers or Site? I've accumulated a thumb drive full of them but have agreed not to share. |

Agree with everything you say Bruce. After the stupidity of EA with TWOnline I was amazed to see PGAX still running under the CGX Name and had no hesitation in joining. The Course Design Team are really superb and as you say produce the Finest Courses. Surely someone from the CGX Admin Team will let us know what is happening. Hopefully it is only a Technical hiccup and normal service will be resumed soon. |

personally I believe it is done, the powers that be have pulled the plug without notification to all of the loyal members. It's a shame but I suppose all good things have to end. I hope all of the 300+ courses in the CGX archives are released on here to be enjoyed by the golfing community, there would be no reason to keep them hidden away any longer |

Well, if they have folded it's a pretty lame and weak way to do it. Take money from people for memberships and donations right up to the end, then pull the plug without a word. Not cool.
Architects, might as well start uploading your courses for other people to enjoy. |

Well there is absolutely NO excuse for not posting something somewhere about what has happened to the CGX site !!! They could post here, which would be the most logical or their Facebook site or even an email. I could see for the past year and a half one by one people that were staff members leaving, but to shut down without notice, nevermind refunding the new members that might of just joined. If they thought the site was dying before, well this is about the worse Public Relations job I've ever seen. Which makes me seriously believe that we may never hear from Jim or JB or anyone else associated with CGX. It was fun, completion was good and the people even better. I hope someone that has the knowledge and the time will start another TW golf site, and please NOT a Case Ladder site, we have too many of those already! But a site you can come on and play your tourney any time day or night and you don't have to look for a partner to join you... If nothing else there is always Golf4Fun where it is golf for free (although the gentleman that runs it is having a little financial problems because of his health and donations are welcomed). I hope CGX is not a thing of the past and I hope to see my many friends and competitors soon. God Bless you all, sincerely, Kristen Robins (aka phillefty, krissy hynes, grumpy cat) |

to say that I am disgusted with their total lack of communication would be an understatement.as I paid my 35 dollars renewal on 30th sept and then on 5th October another 35 dollars was paid by paypal on a recurring payment which I was not aware of until yesterday. so needless to say I am 70 dollars or 44.50 pounds out of pocket.i think we are all owed some sort of explanation asap so come on cgx admin team lets hear from you. you were quick enough to take the annual fees[twice over from me] nuff said delboy hurst |

Before we get all histerical, all moneys go into an account, once the mistake is known it will be put back, it has nothing to do with how quick they are to get your money, happened to me and a refund was made and the problem was corrected, I contribute funds per month to the site, and I do trust Jim and JB and RobC, who are the main admins. Something perhaps a change in direction in life has affected Jim. I feel sure this will all be soughted out only if Jim is capable of soughting it out, not having him on the site for so long is very worrying indeed. JB may feel he needs a very different direction in life compared to what he was doing, I only hope he can give all of us some idea pretty soon of what has caused this and what if anything is being done to clear it up. |

Not so sure Bruce, it takes less than 5 minutes to post here or on Facebook to say there are problems. There has been nothing said since the site went dead.
At least one Admin has been on here reading threads and could have easily posted something on way or another. That is the part that is unusual and disappointing.
