Hello!
After a 4 year hiatus I am once again enjoying the greatest Golf game ever created for PC (;Tiger Woods 08) I decided that the apparel and equipment has definitely fallen behind the times so I have decided to give the game a face lift via a series of Tex Mods
For those who are familiar with Tex Mod simply load the .tpf packages and enjoy
For those who are not familiar you will need to download Tex Mod before you can use the .tpf packages
http://www.tombraiderhub.com/tr7/modding/texmod/download/texmod.zip
What is Tex Mod?
Tex Mod is an application that replaces Textures of games by using .tpf packages
How do I use it?
You need to 1.) Locate the .exe of the game 2.) load a .tpf package in Package Mode 3.) Run the game
The first 3 Tex Mods I have created are:
1.) Titleist Mens Sports Mesh Cap 2.) Puma Looper Fitted Golf Driver Cap 3.) Puma Golf Performance Polo
See the screenshots below I will make them availble for download soon |

Thumsyx,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The clothes look great. My game even seems to run better in Texmod.
If you're taking requests, may we have an all white driver's cap?
Looking forward to any new items you upload. |

Thanks for approving the mods I am glad people are able to enjoy them
As much as I would like to be able to include them "directly" in the game I do like the flexibility that Tex Mod provides
I am certainly open to requests
To avoid having a bunch of individual downloads – In the future I will try to release the mods in collections
The next mod I am working on will be a Puma Shirt Collection It will include 4 Puma Men's Golf Raglan Tech Polos for a “Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday” experience
Depending on the bandwidth I have for modding I will also try to include some pants and hats |

Tomb Raider 7: Legend - MODDING, TexMod Tutorial by Lee
For this tutorial, we will make a mod of the Legend, Union Jack outfit. Once you have unziped TexMod, you are ready.
Making the necessary settings:
Open TexMod.
1. Click the folder icon of the Target Application section and select Browse. You have to navigate to the folder you have installed Legend and select the trl.exe file. It is most likely somewhere in C:\ Program Files\ Crystal Dynamics\ Tomb Raider Legend folder, unless you installed the game elsewhere.
2. Switch to Logging Mode.
3. Make sure that the options Show Texture on the upper left corner and Replace Texture (;with a green texture) are selected. You will see why in a while.
4. From the first drop down menu, select the Output format. Make sure that you select a format that your paint program supports. From the second drop down menu, select the Log with button (;e.g F12). By pressing this button in the game, the program will grab an image.
5. In the Output folder section, select the folder that the images will be stored. By default, the program will save the images in the Out folder that will be created automatically in the folder you have installed TexMod. If you want, you can select another folder.
6. Once you are done, hit Run to run Legend.
Grabbing the texture:
For now, go to Croft Manor, enter Laras wardrobe and select the Legend, Union Jack outfit.
Press the - (;minus) or + (;plus) button. These buttons cycle the textures that are used for the specific room. The minus button cycles the textures backwards and the plus button forwards.
Each texture appears in the upper left corner of the screen (;Show Texture on the upper left corner option) and the corresponding texture in the room turns into green [Replace Texture (;with a green texture) option).
Once you find the texture you want to edit (;as shown in the image on the right), press the Log with button you selected in the programs options (;e.g. F12). Then exit the game.
[Note: If, after pressing the - (;minus) or + (;plus) button, the texture does not show in the corner or turn into green, press the * (;asterisk) button before pressing the - or + button. Thanks to Alex Fly for the note.]
Making the editing:
The program saved the texture in the Output folder you selected in the options. Open a paint program (;e.g. Adobe Photoshop) and open the file.
Make your editing. For now, just add some green dots and save the file onto itself (;overwrite the file).
Building your outfit:
1. Go to TexMod and switch to Package Build.
2. In the Definition File section, browse to the Output folder you set up before and select the TexMod.log file. (;Note: The TexMod.log file was automatically created when you grabbed the texture. You must NEVER edit this file.)
3. Enter your name and some comments (;e.g. what outfit the players will have to select in the game).
4. Hit Build. The Save TexMod Package window will open, where you will have to insert the name of the file. The name can be anything, but it is better if you use the name of the edited outfit (;e.g. Union Jack green dots). Select Save.
5. The Build Status will give you the results. If everything goes well, you will see the Success! 1 Textures added message.
IMPORTANT: The Out folder must not contain irrelevant textures. So, before creating the TPF file, make sure that the Out folder contains only the textures for the specific outfit and nothing else. If you include irrelevant textures, the TPF file will become larger. The more textures you have in the Out folder, the bigger the TPF file becomes.
Testing your outfit:
1. Switch to Package Mode.
2. Hit the folder icon and navigate to your outfit (;e.g. Union Jack green dots). Then hit Run.
Go to Croft Manor and select the Legend, Union Jack outfit.
Thats it!! Go ahead and create your first outfit. It does not have to be the best ever. Just practice and (;why not?) share your work with us :-) Happy Modding!! |

Thanks for the kind words I am working hard on a complete Puma set that will contain 20+ items I thought it would be better to include them into one download
As far as modding things on your own I am a novice modder for certain and the process is easy I started using TexMod for Madden 08 so it has been around a long time I was surprised there were not more TexMods for TW08
The only tools I use are
TexMod GIMP
That is it!
As far as extracting textures from the game the above tutorial spells it out You load the game in "Logging Mod" extract the textures I would like to see what some real artists can do!
There is definitely a face texture that can be extracted I have passed by it many times when extracting clothing, clubs and other textures |

so since you've made obviously to me (by not answering my question) that you don't faces, maybe you would answer this one. Do you do Nike golf gear? |

My apologies for missing your question
The only cyberface I have attempted is my own I use it in game and it looks much better than the custom face
That being said the facial customization for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 was really ahead of it's time and deep
It can be done but most of the heavy lifting is still done via the 3d modeling in game As long as the 3d model and skin tone are done with the photo that will be used for the texture in mind it works very well
I would definitely try to tackle a cyberface request , PGA Tour Pro or average Joe - Just let me know
As far as the Nike mods I would love to do a similar collection for Nike
I am currently working on the Nike Method 4i putter and have shifted my focus to clubs and equipment
If there are some Nike mods you would like to see please let me know, send a PM and or links to pictures of the items you would like to see modded |
