Greetings.
EA Sports kept a bunch of old Tiger Woods 99-2001 era stuff on their ftp website, including some 99 courses, lots of 2000-2001 courses, course archtect and graphic libraries and even the course architect manual:
ftp://ftp.easports.com/pub/easports/misc/coursearchitect/courses/99/ ftp://ftp.easports.com/pub/easports/misc/coursearchitect/courses/ ftp://ftp.easports.com/pub/easports/misc/coursearchitect/coursearchitect/ ftp://ftp.easports.com/pub/easports/misc/coursearchitect/manual/

Sad to say the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 99 courses are no longer available on the ftp.easports.com site linked above. Forum member poiuyt128 (Tony from the UK) sent me several courses. I was also able to test play quite a few courses from the ftp site before it went down and archived my favourites. Unfortunately life got in the way and i didn''t make it through all available courses before the plug got pulled. In hindsight i should have downloaded/hoarded them all first before test playing.
In total i archived ~16 pretty decent 3rd party courses, which is great as the original game only came with 3, as well as the course architect and related files. If anyone is interested in this old stuff feel free to PM or email and i can make arrangements to get you these files. A moderately extensive google search did not reveal any other useful resources for Tiger Woods 99 era goodies. |

Thanks for hosting these courses TruBluMich. Your effort to keep this good old game alive is appreciated.
Also discovered the courses again at a new ftp address: http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/ftp.ea.com/easports/misc/coursearchitect/courses/ http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/ftp.ea.com/easports/misc/coursearchitect/courses/99/
~249 files/~3 GB of data for anyone still interested in Tiger Woods 1999 - 2001 era courses. Also noticed some Tiger Woods links in some of the ftp parent folders, which may/may not be useful for people playing the newer games (2004, 2006).
I''ve already hoarded all these courses onto a local drive and plan to play through a couple courses per weekend during the winter months, permanently archiving my favourites into the cloud for future replay. Although probably the last known surviving Tiger Woods 99 player around, just wanted to post this additional info in case it helps someone else. |

Somewhere, I might have a set of CDs that JSJarvis made, that has all of the courses created for 99-2001, just not sure exactly where they are and/or if I still have them. At one point this is how many courses we had, when the servers hard drive crashed a few years ago we made the descion to not re-upload the files. There were alot of courses that were released for both games so the number of courses is closer to 400, so that list above is a pretty good collection.
Tiger Woods 00/01 Course Downloads Stats: 291 Courses - 16,846 Downloads - 41,969 Course Visits Tiger Woods 99 Course Downloads Stats: 317 Courses - 23,091 Downloads - 54,747 Course Visits |

Thanks Gunpower61 for the sticky!
Thanks again TruBluMich for posting the courses. Would be great if you were able to find your old CDs and had room on this site to re-host everything...but i am happy with what is already here.
Forgot to mention earlier, for anyone who may also be interested in the old Tiger Woods 99-2001 era course architect:
-- course architect 2000 and primary libraries: http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/ftp.ea.com/easports/misc/coursearchitect/coursearchitect/
-- course architect 2000 manual: http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/ftp.ea.com/easports/misc/coursearchitect/manual/
-- additional artwork and textures: http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/ftp.ea.com/easports/misc/coursearchitect/art/
Already started digging into some courses...could not wait til my Sunday afternoon gametime.
Take care all and thanks for running this site. |

Hello robert, i am not familiar with this course Architect, but maybe you can find some help in the manual. From page 123 in the manual there is some info how to use Textures The manual is available for download on this link:

why post the same thing 3 times ??
why are you using the 2000 CA? are you designing for 1999 or 2000 game?
with the 2006 CA, you need to design and compile using XP, 2000 version says windows 95/98
have you gone through the manual step by step for the various tools?
the teture section seems to say you need to select or identify an area to change the texture - it should appear with a boundary, and the outline of the area has blue dots
i don't see that in the attached image, only the general plot
there are very few shortcuts to designing - learn each step along the way - easier in the long run |

RobertSmith hope you got the CA issue sorted. The screenshot looks like Windows 7 or newer. I have not used Windows since XP, works perfect with Course Architect 2000, which i believe designs for TW 99-01 games. As mentioned above, the appropriate area needs to be selected to apply textures. Some textures are built-in and the download links provided additional textures.
The manual has a quick start section and the rest is nicely detailed. For the most part trial and error, clicking and exploring menu dropdowns probably easiest way to learn the basics. Finally started designing my own course, lots of fun.
Primary purpose for posting, trying to keep this good old game alive. Other than the courses listed above, all external Course Architect 2000 and extra course links appear dead. Old time gamers can still get plenty of courses above. However, Course Architect 2000 no longer appears readily available. The Tiger Woods 99 PGA Tour CD does not include Course Architect 2000.
Unless this site is willing to host, which understandably would probably be negatory, feel free to PM me and i can make arrangements to provide a download link. Hoarded everything i could: Course Architect 2000, 195 page PDF manual, extra textures, horizons, extra objects (buildings, bushes, cacti, grass, rocks, trees) and additional artwork (coastal, desert, inland, shogun). Entire zip download ~176 MB. Thanks. |

I see you are an admin with tw99 knowledge, I hope you can help me out. I just started using CA 2000 yesterday in hopes of taking existing course holes and making a new 18 hole course from them. In the attatched image is the 17th hole at sawgrass. The left image is from the original 17th and the right image is from an imported to CA and slightly edited 17th. As you can see in the images the imported image (on the right) is lacking correct trees, sea wall, crocodile and water color. I do have libraries from EA ftp so i'm not sure how to fix the incorrect/missing graphics. Do have any suggestions?
Thank You. |

Hi Good ol Duff, i am not admin, just a fan.
The ftp://ftp.easports.com links from my OP above, dated November 06, 2012, miraculously work again! So if you do not have the 195 page Course Architect manual, worth the download, should answer your questions. If you are just learning, creating a course can be tedious and frustrating, worth the effort though.
The right screenshot looks poor compared to the original. EA did a great job on their courses! Lots of stuff can go wrong when designing, impossible to know for sure. It appears the necessary object and texture libraries were not properly imported into Course Architect before compiling the course. Also when you say slightly edited 17th, that could mean anything. If you are not careful, a couple errant mouse clicks can mess up a hole. Keep incremental backups of your work.
Curious where you sourced the Sawgrass course, as i think EA just released the compiled version, which can not be reverse engineered without starting from scratch. As per the manual, you can not import compiled courses back into Architect 2000 (page 134/195).
Recommend reviewing the manual, especially terrain and object Import/Export, starting on page 130. If you do not have all objects/textures, the ftp links above work again. Hope this helps. |

This forum already has good instructions for importing courses into Tiger Woods 99: http://www.coursedownloads.com/tutorials/view.asp?id=1
Note a few course downloads are *.exe files. If the zip software you use can not extract the data, these particular files are just zip files. Rename course_name.exe to course_name.zip, then unzip and manually install the course. Enjoy! |

Believe all these courses are already available from the ftp links above and/or hosted on this site: ftp://ftp.easports.com/pub/easports/pr/uk/
Reason for mentioning, they were submissions to a coursearchitect.com competition in ~2000. The quality of these courses are, therefore, top notch compared to many community created courses. Some include custom textures and objects. So if you are new to this retro game and want to play more than the three built-in courses, these particular downloads are a good start. |
