Below are 2 links to play Tiger woods game on Widescreen monitor:

http://www.widescreengaming.net/wiki/Tiger_Woods_PGA_Tour_08

Here is link to the Universal Widescreen patcher zipfile:

http://www.wsgf.org/article/universal-widescreen-uniws-patcher

Important note: On win7, win8, win10 it is possibble you will have to run the widescreen patch as administrator.

When the first link above is broken, i found another link:

https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/tiger-woods-2007-1920x1200.1999098/

Basic this is what it says:

I used the Universal Widescreen Patcher v1.03 , and

1: Chose the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 (Custom Menu Resolution) profile.

2: Pointed the program to my Tiger woods 2008 bin folder. (thats where the DXWRAP.DLL file is)

3: Typed in 1920x1200 ( or other resolution ) in the UWP programs "new resolution" box.

4: Click the patch button.

5: Start Tiger woods 2008 and select 800x600 from within the game and it now plays at 1920 x1200.

(Important note: you might to start Windows 10 in Safe Mode to change the games'' resolution through the Wide Screen Patch app.)

The only games I see the patch good for is TW04 default menu resolutions, TW04 custom menu resolutions and TW05. Nothing for TW08. Trying to use the patch for one of the other TW games and the instructions tell you to point to the bin folder containing "DXWrap.dll". The bin folder in TW08 has no such file. In fact I have no such file on my computer anywhere. What am I missing here?

Pardon me, I have found the DXWrap.dll file by looking in the program files on my computer. If I try to access the bin folder using the patcher, it does not see that file.

If you look at the first link that was posted, it takes you to a Wiki that gives information about the patch. It clearly states in the Widescreen Support section of that Wiki to use the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 (Custom Menu Resolution) profile when patching for TW08.

Also did you try to copy and paste the DXWrap.dll in your TW08 bin folder ?
I can see the DXWrap.dll in my Tw08 bin folder.

Sorry if I seem stupid here but..........I downloaded and ran the uniws.exe program and it says Im at 1920x1080 which is correct. It says to select the 800x600 resolution in the game. When I do that it looks way off. My golfer is long, tall and skinny. I have to set the game resolution to the largest size to get it to look normal. I think that is 1680x1050. There is another file in the patcher.zip that gets downloaded called patches.ini. Is that file supposed to go somewhere?

I have the in game settings at 1680x1050 and it seems to be the only resolution that fills my monitor screen but its not true 16x9. By not conforming to the 16x9 format you will not get a perfect dimensional image. In other words not only will things like the size of the player, trees, sand traps, houses etc. be skewed but it will effect the lines on the green when trying to read a putt. Try it. Change your settings to something like 1280x1024 and check out things in the game.

Thanks Gunpower!

Works very fine on TW07 & TW08, but *not* on TW06 because the text screens (Leaderboard, Menus and options) won't fit the higher resolution, those screens are cut.

IMO, TW08 for PC with the Widescreen patch is still the golf sim with the best grafics.

Bye,

Hi...
Try this:

When you patch the game you will have to use: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 (;Custom Menu Resolution) profile when patching for TW08.
Resolution inside TW08 set to: 800x600
(; On main screen on TW08....Options...Video....Screen resolution (; 800x600 )
After that you can start to run the patch.
The menu screens inside TW08 will stay at 800x600 but gameplay will be at your chosen resolution on your system.

Important: You had already black screen before you patched the game ?
When you had black screen in TW08 before you patched the game, you might have to update your Video card driver.
What are you system specifications ?

OK..so things are worse now...I update my drivers AMD RADEON 6750..did that..
Then I made sure the resolution of the game was set to 800 x 600
I also did the no intro thing..was familiar with that from before..

Once I did the no intro fix..the game boots up and wnet right to a black screen..the same way it was before removing the no intro...I can hear the music and see the hand/mouse pointer on a black screen..but now I don't even get to the main menue screen like before...
Anyhow..I installed the patch,,,it says installed....

Then I started the game...same darn problem..

What is going on?

I have tried everything..even taken my high end video card out of hd and reducing the native resolution down to 800 x 600 on the card itself...for some reason the game will not run on this machine with the amd radion 6750 which is a great card...what an aggravation this has been for me..all day trying to fic this to no avail..if anyone has any other suggestions they'd be greatly appreciated.

A lot of people on Win7 can t see the intro movie when TW08 starts and will see a black screen for about 5 seconds, but after that you should go to the TW08 main screen without problems.
I remember some people had to roll back to an older graphics card driver, maybe it is good idea to try an older graphics card driver.

When I first installed TW08 on my Windows 7 system, the screen was also black, I did some testing and found the way to fix the black screen for me was to go to control Panel/ Appearance and Personalization/ Personalization

Change the theme to Windows 7 basic when Playing TW08

No more black screen
