This is my first post to the Forum.
I recently voted and commented on Neil Munro's newest course (Sidlaws)- moved by the fact I enjoyed it so very much, so I was puzzled by the latest comments where supporters told Neil not to take notice of Posters responses etc, hence I dug into the forum to find out what was behind them
I've always relied to some extent on voting score as to whether I'd download a course or not so I personally wouldn't like to see the voting removed. I do however now worry that I may have missed some gem courses because I'd been put off by low scores.
Perhaps as one poster has already said: Firstly you have to download the course, place a comment, then and only then would you have the right to rate it. Ultimately this seems the fairest way in order to remove spammers and spoilers.
Anyway, to all you course designers: Kudos, please continue the good work we all appreciate it very much.
For me and lots of others you Guys have managed to keep TW'08 fresh when it would certainly have died a long time ago - Keep the courses coming.

"How about back to the way it was a long time ago.. No voting.. I do courses because I like to.. I do the best I can also and Im with Jmeier, to get a 5 star rating is really beyond anything I could do...
I really dont care about votes, if I turn them off Ive been chastised because I supposedly didnt have the sack to take what I get.. So I leave them on... But really, do any of us designers care about votes?
Sure we like to get nice compliments and constructive criticism but I doubt any of us care about votes..
I suggest turning the voting off for everyone.. Problem solved.. Then if someone has a beef, let them make a comment. Right now they can make give a 1 rating and possibly make a course look bad.. Forget the voting.
Hey, how about, you have to download and play a course to see if you like it or not?" | |
