Could someone please point me in the right direction for creating a structure library.
I have a couple small models made for testing but when I create the library it just crashes.
Thanks Pit |

I believe you have to export the Gmax files as .obj You will need a script for it, you can find it on link below:

x objects are not supported in the LC. You need to export as a Lightwave object with a special export script created to properly format for the LC. Follow Gunpowers link to point you in the proper direction |

With max there is an export script written by foreleft and another(sorry, but can't remember at the moment) to export objects in the correct format for TW. Just make sure you have no assemblies or groups and that every object has a texture assigned. |

I wish I could be of more help. I personally use 3DS Max. I have never used GMax. They are a bit different and have different export scripts |

Pittbull, are you using jpegs textures when modeling in max, lc will crash if jpegs are used, bitmap and tga files are recommended when importing models into lc. |

Textures must be in multiples of 2. 2.4.8.16.etc. up to a max of 1024. That is for each dimension. Mixed multiples of 2 are okay. Are you having trouble exporting from Max or trouble importing into the LC? |

Yep I am using 1024x1024 and 512x512 tga's , Also don't know if I have the settings correct on the export from 3d max. I Set it to lightwave. I have a feeling its the export settings causing the LC to crash when I create the library. I also have the thumb showing up correctly.
Thanks Pit |

You cannot use the 3DS export, there is a script for it that runs from utilities |

Here is the exporter script for TW. Just place it in your Scripts\startup folder. Hope this helps. |
