Do you have this information from a reliable source? I only ask because the same can be said for any wireless hand held controller as well. For example, the Wii controller cannot be seen when it is blocked from your body, either. Just curious, because that would probably be my only reason to buy the new XBox360 version.

here,s ea sports statement on it
When Electronic Arts announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters earlier today for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, the publisher confirmed support for the Playstation Move and Wii Remote Plus but support Kinect for Xbox 360 was not mentioned at all. Unsuprisingly, it's the lack of something for gamers to hold on to which is tripping up EA Sports supporting Kinect and a golf game.

"The team basically ran out of time from a development perspective," EA Sports President Peter Moore told ESPN. "We were looking at how we could integrate the technology that is Kinect, which is obviously doing very well, and put it into a game that requires you to hold something to have that real element of integration and authenticity.

"Unfortunately we will not have Kinect support, although we will be on the Xbox 360."

In this case it sounds as if hands-free gaming doesn't work as well for golf games. Theoretically, golf games could have players hold any kind of stick to replicate a golf swing but there are obviously other issues that EA Sports has to work around. For now, anyone of dreaming of playing a golf game using Kinect will hae to wait until PGA Tour 13 or for someone else to figure out all the development issues.

So again EA chooses to diminish the quality of the features rather than spending the effort to get it right. Quite typical.

Diminish the quality of what features?

I think they mean by not taking full advantage of the platform technology.

In what way and which platform? If you are talking about Kinect, they did not feel that they could deliver a Golf experience without having something for the user to hold such as a club. If this is what you are referring to, then I do not agree that they failed to take advantage of the technology by releasing a Kinect version that was not comparable to the PS3, Wii versions. EA has been criticized many time (and deservedly so) for releasing half-baked features. Anyone remember the first mouse swing for TW before TrueSwing? THAT you can criticize them for, but I fail to see how they can be criticized for not releasing something competitive with the PS3/Wii....

For what it's worth, I am stoked about the Augusta, I have a PS3 and the move bundle and I pre ordered my copy. As for PGAX and there courses they are great, but I just can't seem to commit to playing 4 rounds a week I know it doesn't sound like a lot of time but for me it is. I am not an EA fanboy by any means and I have been hard on them in the past especially when it came to the Madden franchise, but I think they stepped up big time. One small little side note, I read in a earlier post about other versions of Augusta (Mchale/PGAX), I think it would only be fair to mention Mike Jones version of Augusta,if you have never seen it you must have a look truly awesome.

Hey, don't jump down my throat. I was just trying to throw out what they might have been refering to to. I don't own a next gen platform, and I don't plan on buying one anytime soon. If I did buy one I sure wouldn't buy TW for it. The last console version of TW I played felt like mickey mouse arcade golf. I personally prefer the pc version of the game, and they have not give us a full tangible version of the game in three years now, or is it four. Either way I will have to make due with TW07 for offline and TW08 for online play. I know that EA has TWO out there, but it's not my cup of tea. I don't want to continue to pay to play a game. I want a game I can pay for once, play when I want, offline or online, and TWO is not that. EA has decided to move away from that, and I can't change that. But I won't give EA anymore money for TW unless they come back to the PC in the proper manner, and I'm not alone in my opinion. Now that I've done my soapbox thing, back to the original issue. Maybe some people feel that by not taking advantage of all technology, that EA is stiffing those users. Maybe EA just needs more time to make the game work with it. Maybe EA has no intentions of trying to make it work. I was just trying to provide a suggestion to your question. Afterall, I was not the one who made the original comment that you were asking about. I just don't care what happens with the TW series when it comes to consoles.

When I referred to not being as good as McHale or PGAX versions, I worded it badly. The console gameplay has never been anywhere near the PC gameplay, meaning the courses are not as true to their original form on the consoles. Now I it's been just under 2 years since I've played the console versions so maybe there have been improvements. All I know is TW 2004 on console was very similar to TW 2009 and I thought it was unrealistic.

I'm sure EA is putting tons of effort into this and I'm sure it will look fantastic. I want to see whether or not it will actually play like Augusta.

I didn't. I responded to your post, but the post was intended for PGAX who made the original comment.

And FYI....TW11 with the PS3 Move is THE most challenging version of TW regardless of platform including TW PC. I respect your opinions about not owning a console and also agree that TWO is simply no comparison to TW 08 and previous PC versions. However, there are a number of TW PC users who have jumped on the PS3 TW11 bandwagon playing with the Move and they are VERY pleased from what they are posting at both the TWO and EA TW forums....

Agree that the console gameplay has never been close to the gameplay of the PC version until TW11 and then when the PS3 Move was shipped. See my post above. EA is also upping the ante with TW12 offering an even more challenging difficulty level than TOUR Pro in TW11. This new level is called Tournament Mode.

EA is also communicating regularly with AN to make sure the course looks and plays like it should. EA has also put ANs suggestions in the game for AN to play like it does during the Masters. The combination of this and the new Tournament difficulty has me pretty excited about playing 12 with the Move.

I just watched a demo on Youtube for the first time. The game looks like a nice challenge, yes.

But I don't play online, I don't play video golf standing up, and features like a career editor and course creator are of much greater importance to me than the degree of challenge. Heck, TW 07-08 for the PC on Expert difficulty is as much of a challenge as I need, lol.

And I'm still waiting for EA to create a golf game that allows OFFLINE 4 PLAYER/4 ROUND TOURNEYS. Why they ever took that feature out of their golf series is mind-boggling to put it mildly. Your buddies come over to play, and you want to play a knockout tourney where they're mournfully sitting on the sidelines after 2 rounds, forced to watch you compete in rounds 3 and 4. There is NOTHING better!

Tim, how big of a course selection will there be? Last console game I played, I believe (not 100% sure) there were only 5-10 courses on the game and you had to purchase extra courses. What is EA doing with that currently? I don't want to spend $60 on a game and another $100 just to have all the courses. Just wondering, thanks.

It is other story with subject, though
Is there no person who can make Mod of TW in here?
i mean, some persons who has experienced in decoding or decompiling about
resources such as textures, 3dmodels and animations etc of TW08 or any other Games

there are bunch of Mod groups in other PC Games however there is no one in TW community
except Course design
