So EA Finnally decided to put Augusta in the Game - Little Late but I might actually buy it for the PS3 since the PC version is a joke.

EA dropped its license with Wentworth ( and probably a few more courses ).......... my guess is so they can pay the overfed patricians down in Augusta...........

One had nothing to do with the other since EA has been working with AN for 3 years on this....

Pretty subjective comment there and you are entitled to your opinion. However, Scott Chesney who was one of the finest GBC designers stated that the screenshots are the best he has ever seen regardless of TW, Links or any other version. And since McHale nor PGAX have access to the tools that EA has, no offense at all to either of them, but I highly doubt their versions of Augusta would be better......and I am pretty sure they might say the same. However, if they had access to the same tools, laser scans, data and artwork, I have no doubt they could create just as good if not better versions.....

I noticed the above pic shows the PS3 cover. Will it also be the same for XBox360?

Did ea just get these new toys, because the PGAX did a better job on Sawgrass, East Lake, Harbour Town, St. Andrews.... need I go on. But that is after all, just my OPINION.

IM excited to see EA at least making an effort again to give fans what they are asking for and not just putting out the same BS game every year. Now I have no doubt the PS3 and X360 version will blow anything we have on the PC away, as for the TW-O version that undoubtley will be coming, EA historically has not been able to put out better courses than the course design community and A LOT of that has to do with EA restrictions on what MINIMUM system specs are, as a Designer you are not restricted to those standards.

NOW if they would just listen to us on the PC version......

To add to the licensing from what Ive found out so far, all proceeds are going to charity not Augusta National, I may be wrong but thats what I remember reading.

Actually the resources that PGAX has I am sure is far better than anything EA has. We do what we do for passion, not money, and that alone males us work that much harder and better. That is obvious when we look at all of the inaccuracies even in the current releases. Wentworth West is a joke for example in TWO does not have any of Ernie Els' changes that were done for 2010. So if EA has all of these great resources, they maybe should get someone that knows how to use them.

Really? You have access to GPS data, laser mapping/scanning technology, actual high resolution photos of actual course textures, etc? You guys do an INCREDIBLE job and I have no doubt if some of you were creating the courses with the tools that EA has access to, you would do a better job simply because you guys have a passion that is hard to come by. The reason Wentworth West is inaccurate is that EA will not make changes to any current course without re-visiting the course and laser-mapping/scanning all over. I do not think the issue with EA's courses is a lack of tools or people talented enough to use those tools, rather it is an issue of development time and deadlines. Fortunately, Augusta has been in development for well over a year and should come out damn near perfect. Especially since AN is working closely with EA to make sure it is represented perfectly. Far more interaction with AN than any other course that EA has worked on.

Does the new design software that EA are using mean that they are unable to release a PC version or is it that volume of sales to PC users does not justify a release? It would cost me hundreds of pounds to buy a PS3 or X-box360 and the relevant dvd. How many Tiger Woods dvds have EA sold for PS3 and X-box? How many courses would I get on say a PS3 dvd? and would there be more courses available for a small additional charge? These are serious questions for me before I could justify spending that amount of money, even if the design quality of these courses was better.

Does anyone think the PS3 or XBox play and look better than the PGAX TW08 version
of Augusta? Are you kidding me?

It makes me laff. Get your gamepad shot out, now pull it back and go foward lmao.
Love the gamepad shot, so real, watch the arrow direction and speed for the putts. Wow.
We have had several versions of Augusta for years with TW08, and with the 1GB graphic card and 22 inch monitor looks pretty good in HD.

I have no comment for the TW10 online version when it comes out. I know still improving the beta phase. Can't wait...heres another $60.

I think it might be pretty fun on XBox360 if you have the new Kinect.

there are no plans for kinnect support for tiger woods or any other golf game,as microsofts selling slogan for kinnect is controler free gaming and this would be imposible to implement for a giolf game unlesss they bring out a addon controler with a sensor built in,something to do with the kinnect cameras not being able to accuratly pick up your motion of a golf swing once it goes behind your body
