"Larry, can you move the point to the plot, if so move to plot and delete on the plot. you can try to uncheck all the tee boxes to see if this will restore the shot path also.

No sir, I tried I can't move it.. These are all gr8 ideas, we are going thru methodically and trying ideas one at a time so we don't get to lost. Fedexfrt357 is having a go at it too, he seems to remember having this problem, so we will see what happens.
We will keep posting.. |

Hi it is I he he C:, This was a course I played for years on TW05 without any troubles! Ive tried all the suggestions but I think the point that cannot be accessed is the tee position its also outside the course boundry which is why its a bit aloof!:D.How this has occurred is baffling as I played a rnd last night before knockin off and it was fine,I played a rnd today,it froze on the 6th,I loaded the CA and noticed the problem! Never seen it before. PC: |

Yes, because when you drop the shot points on the tee's and the next one you try to drop on the fairway, comes from that spot way off the plot. You dont see anything coming from the ones on the tee box, it comes from off the plot as if that was another tee. Strange.. |

Was this shot path created before a perimeter change by an accident? |

Hey Boze, he said he had been playing the course for a while then suddenly this happened, but he already had all the shot paths down. So he must have done something and just needs to remember.
Also strange, is that when you go to put the next shot point on the fairway, and like I said it comes from the top left off the plot, that first one has no yardage yet, then when you place another one, you get yardages.
Its like that is a 6th tee point, but coming from off the plot..
I told him to hang in there.... Sorry, I dont believe there has been a parimeter change yet. I tried it for him and no help there. |

Any chance you've added galleries lately? This is a problem that can happen when adding galleries, it can take 1 shot path marker and move it off the plot like what happened to you, and because it's off the plot, you can't delete it in the CA. I can't remember if it worked, but it may be fixable by going to the position.ini file (located in C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Course Architect 06\Bin) and delete the shot path locations for the hole in question in that file.
Good luck,
~jm |

This is something that surely needs a bump to top...........
Good luck finding this problem, and I have no idea after the delete suggestion didn't work. Very strange, and this goes along with my thinking that CA has a mind of it's own sometimes, I swear it does.... :P
This one is surely for the A team Mr. T !!!!!!!!

Pete, When you sent me the tcr to test, i didnt have a problem with hole 6 at yardage of 497. Hole 15 aimed me to the left but not off the plot and then back to the hole at a yardage of 563. Could 15 be the root of the problem? |

delete your swap files and when you are deleting the galleries, sometimes you can only use the define hole window delete button to highlight the gallery path, then use mouse to select and delete with keyboard...your crashes should stop.... :)
make any sense...? maybe...? lol |

the only way i was able to get this to go away so far was to strip it... tried deleting all the galleries (;then ca crashes when trying to select holes with definition tool) (;swap files empty) tried deleting all structures / objects / sounds... tried deleting all tees / shot paths / pins...and reworking all with just one tee / pin
also looked at the position.ini file... didnt see any coordinates that looked odd or out of line...but...lol
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-c9e8dc7e.html (;copy of position.ini file if anyone would like to take a look)
heres a couple of pics... |

Very good work fedex, as I too had to strip the course and that actually fixed the problem, yes the little shot point was up in the corner after i stripped it, but after i started dropping shot paths, it went away.. Notice hole 6 is now defined..:)
Peace |

Not only that, but it sure would be nice to know exactly what was the problem, as stripping removes several different things at one time. I was thinking about Jim's suggestion about the galleries, but you are right again, in that you have to remove them manually, if you don't then the CA does crash.. |

The only time I've ever had problems like this had to do with galleries as well, mainly deleting them causes the shot path to go haywire. |

I think jim is on to something here PCDurum, I would try deleting the galleries before stripping the entire course, what could it hurt? |
