What special tricks will be invloved that take full use of my VGA unless you download more than just a broswer plug-in.
I ask as I recently had the mis-pleasure of playing Quake online via browser method and that was dire.

Actually, Woody.......... no, were not. I asked Greg about that very thing, specifically, during the first beta. I supplied a reference to the NDA that said that we were allowed to disclose that info, and , still, he said that we are not allowed to disclose that there is a beta, and that we are part of it. Shortly thereafter, the interweb filled with info about the ongoing beta............ go figure.
Otto
OH, and Goro.......... yes, youre the only one here not under the NDA.......:-p |

I would like someone to post a pic of the 2010 on the green putting with the gid. The grid looks like the playstaytion3 putting with the large squares and horizontal line arrows showing the slope by how fast they move. Huh?
Why would they model after the console game when the present tw08 grid has been enjoyed by the headgate guys since pga2000 and 99/fps98???? Was it easier to design a game easier or quicker?
Sorry but the TW08/2010 comparison tells all. No comment required from the NDA guys. |

Hi Otto, Am I going into the hell? Am I to know the terrified truth? I'm scared, really scared to know the devastating fact. |

Ah ..that would be the images on the same topic previous page? the pdlegend images for comparison..the one where the trees are not sharp in one of them. I know that will all change for the better along with everything else.
I guess the pics I saw of the 2010 beta greens where the grid and pointer is just like the playstation3 will continue to evolve. I don't have a NDA so you can take it with a grain of salt. But I saw pics.
Why does some monitor this site day and nite and have to immediately refute any comments that may shade a not so postiive light on what we have seen so far? Strange.
The trees in pdlegend's two pics reveal the sharper image in the TW08 pic,; thats an absolute thats all. Maybe by year end a later beta will show differently. We can only hope what we have already seen and heard will improve greatly. |

Ok jb, no refutation there then, or being upset, strange you mentioned it tho; lol, we square now.
But so everyone understand, most of us love TW08 with the 106 pages of releases, 7 to a page or 742 courses. We love the 4 different types of play, (click, ts, etc) and 4 levels of play. (novice, etc) All the excellent graphics, tourneys, rooms, chat, clubs, etc. TW08 is an awesome game thats all.
We are worried we may not be able to use all the wonderful designs by the great designers we have, the game play, the green grid putting, and trees waving in the breeze. So change makes all anxious thats all, nothing mean spirited you NDA guys. We seek an end product as good or better than TW08, why shouldnt we. So we voice our concerns. Nothing more or strange.

they way i see is like this if t/w online lives up 2 what its meant to great if not i dont see a problem this version will still attract players and will continue to produce great custom courses and add on utilities for the foreseeable future, and if EA do decide to cease the online lobby i am sure some other site will spring up offering players match up games and tours,so its a no lose situation |

as do the ones involved with the beta and believe me, the beta testers are very vocal ... so far EA Dev Team appears to be listening whether everything everyone wants is available day 1 or not remains to be seen |
