Dave,
Is there any area other than 24hrhetwork to get the game from. I went over there and got blasted by so much spam and advertising, I left immediately. If there is an alternative I am really interested in purchasing the game. |

Get the Portal here...
http://www.redchaingames.com/portal.htm
1. Install the Portal. 2. Open the Portal and set where you would like your install directories to be. 3. Go to the Store tab. 4. Buy the game there.
NOTE: If you have never tried the game at all, there is a new WGC Demo out, downloadable from the Portal. And if you are new to the game..... there is a steep learning curve
I've heard a good popup blocker or browsing the site with Google Chrome works well, but it doesn't bother me tbh.
Designer tutorials and game add ons are available at the 24-hr network site.

Steve Danut has released Ghost Creek at Pumpkin Ridge.
ZONA, aka Jeff Helton has released Lone Wolf Golf Club.
Brian Silvernail has released 4 nice sailboat 'objects' for the Community designers to use.
Breaking News: The workload on the Next Gen game has proved that Dean and Rich need to devote more/all their time to it so they are looking to finalise a deal whereby they would be able to give the current game, (WGC 2011), away for FREE to the Community with a third party overseeing the general running of the game!
More details as and when available................

New Course Released
Availablr from the "24 Hr Network" Site and the new "World Of Golf Online" site.
Congressional Country Club - Blue Course (2011 US OPEN) Bethesda, MD
BJ and ZONA finished this joint project a few days ago. Hopefully everybody will enjoy it. It's a challenging course but if you can hit the fairways, you have a good chance to shoot under par. Although the rough is thick and the greens are fast, it's a fair test.

Jeff Helton, aka ZONA, has released two new courses. Del Paso is new, obviously and Bro Balsta has been updated with new trees, textures, detail, etc. Both courses look great and are a blast to play. Hope you all enjoy them. Feedback is always welcome.
They are only available at the WOGO site, at the moment, here...

Just went to the website, seems like it fizzled out in August? Is this still a valid GolfSim option, or did it die on the operating room table? |

Hi Sandie,
24Hr Network is alive and well.
World Of Golf Online has not officially opened as Tim is waiting for the free release of the game but the site is still available for anything.

Thanks Blader,
yup I see 24HR is still alive, but my question was about the Golf Sim (Hank Haney now?) The info on 24HR or anywhere else is confusing and incomplete. Can someone post an up-to-date status that is complete and easy to find? Seems courses are still being made, but is the SIM available to be purchased or? Is it still be developed?
It seems like the whole project is just circling the bowl at the moment, waiting for the final flush?
Cheers, Sandie |

I notice Dave didn't reply so I'll try to give you some info. There are actually 2 games- World Golf Challenge 2011 (used to be available through the Red Chain Portal but the store tab is gone now, Dave would have to tell you how to buy it now)and Hank Haney which is the same game but was distributed through Atari.
WGC2011 and HH cannot play each other online through the Portal, though supposedly HH can use the Portal to download the courses available there. Both game can use the courses available through the Portal and at the 24 HR and World of Golf Online sites.
There is a new version of the game under development, last we heard it would be late 2012 before it would be ready.
Hopefully Dave pops back in sometime to fill you in.

If anyone wants to try WGC2011 for free, defunctonline.com is giving away some activation codes for the game. Supply is limited.
""Dean Baker from Red Chain Games was nice enough to supply Defunct Online with free activation codes for World Golf Challenge 2011. Our supply of activation codes is very limited, but Dean has promised to supply us with more activation codes while supplies last.
So if you've been meaning to try out World Golf Challenge, this is your chance! Perhaps you're already playing the game, and think a friend or family member might enjoy it as well.
Activation keys will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. To reserve your activation key, all you need to do is join Defunct Online and post a reply to this thread:
http://www.defunctonline.com/forums/topic/652-world-golf-challenge-2011-free-game/
I will send you your activation key in a private message at Defunct Online. If I do not send you your activation key right away, this means that I need to secure more keys from Dean Baker. I will get the keys to you as soon as possible.
By the way, if you already have a World Golf Channel 2011 activation, but can't find a place to download the game . . . just look for the Red Chain Portal in our DOWNLOADS section at Defunct Online! You can find it in the WGC Golf Utilities section. Also in our Downloads area you will find several free courses to enjoy with the game. We are in the process of adding more courses, but it is a slow process. If you would like to help add courses, please send Kelson a private message.""
