Customplay Golf have released another 'official' update.

Jim Dickson's Blue Bayou Golf and Fishing Club is now available to all owner's of CustomPlay Golf 2010. You can download it from the Courses tab. Please note: this is a memory-hungry course. User's with less than 2GB of RAM may have difficulty loading and playing the course.

Field of View Camera: You can now modify the default camera field-of-view (FOV). Go to the "Game" options and adjust the slider. Please note: this controls the vertical field of view of the camera.

Community updates.

Terry Armstrong has released a very nice version of Prairie Dunes, which is available from the Real Courses downloads sectionat the 24hr gaming CPG site here...

http://cpgolf.24-hrgaming.net/index.php?/files/category/3-2010-real-courses/

Finally, Mike Jones has created some superb HD flybys for his site that really show off the Course Architect program. The flybys include Augusta National's 'Amen Corner'.

The flybys can be viewed here...

Update from CPG.

CustomPlay Golf 2010 has been updated. In this new version you can select "First Person" mode when playing a course by hitting Ctrl+F2. You can also enter "God Camera" via Ctrl+F1. To get out of either mode, just hit the same key combination again.

We have also created a new tournament for you to compete in. Go to the Tournaments tab and see how well you do playing the Enchanted Forest. If you don't have the course yet then simply go to the Courses tab and download it from there.

Two new courses have been released for CustomPlay Golf 2010. The first is a magnificient, licensed course in Quebec: "La Tempete". The second is a fantasy course created by Jim Dickson called "Hidden Shoals". As always, if you own the game then you can download them from the courses tab in the Portal.

CustomPlay Golf 2010 has also been updated. This update improves the DXF import feature.

"Old Fife Golf Links" has been released by BJ and I have uploaded it to the brand new server and site.

See the story here...

http://www.24-hrgaming.com/index.html/_/sports-games/cpg-golf-news/fife-old-golf-links-released-r60

.... and if you want the course, and believe me you should, register at the new site and download it from the CPG download area. (While I am on the subject, a big shout to Tazz and Kelson, (Mike and Dom), for their hard work in getting the new server and site up and running).

NOTE: The new site is laid out slightly differently than the old one in that the CPG forums are now part of the main site rather than completely stand alone like the 'old' ones are but it has better functionality.

Expect to see other courses great renditions released soon!

Jeff Helton has released two new courses for Customplay Golf: Kingsbarns and Estonia

Both are real courses and can be found in the download section on the new 24hr Gaming site at http://www.24-hrgaming.com/forum/forum/30-customplay-golf/

Kingsbarns - a links style course just a hop skip and a jump from St. Andrews along the coast line. Make sure you turn up the wind a bit. Not that many trees and the course defense relies on those strong gusts. Actually, the course is layed out in a similar fashion to St. Andrews, with most of the holes lining up in a single direction, and then back the opposite way. A strong sidewind coming off the ocean can make this course a real pain. A great golf challenge.

Estonia - not an overly challenging course but there are some really nice holes here. The course doesn't have alot of length but there are a few holes that are very long. Also a few very tricky tiered greens can jump out at you.

CustomPlay Golf have released 2 'updates' for the Community today.

The first is several small bug fixes and patches for the game as follows...CustomPlay Golf 2010 Update History

* Network Play: Collision meshes now correctly generated.
* Network Play: Shot camera used when watching other player's shots is now whatever you have selected for your shots.
* Network Play: Fixed the "t" being added to the beginning of a chat message.
* Network Play: Disabled the knee high camera when typing a chat message (so pressing shift doesn't move the camera).
* File requesters now show which directory you are seeing.
* Filenames cannot include asterixes. Asterixes will be removed if entered in a filename.

The second is an 'Official' course release by Jim Dickson.

Following on from his last release Jim has now given us the beautiful "Valley of Tranquility". The course can be downloaded now from the courses tab in the Custom Portal.

Coeur d'Alene and Belfry Brabazon released!

The Belfry is an exceptional rendition by Jim Dickson that was originally created in CPG1 and then updated for CPG2010. The course is revered for hosting 4 memorable Ryder Cups and it is an ideal choice for online match play. There are a lot of great holes such as the drivable par 4 10th and difficult 18th with approach over water to a heavily guarded green with multiple tiers.

CDA is a course that BJ, (Desert Rat) started back during CPG1 days and have updated in stages for each new version of the game. The final 2010 version features the animated "putter boat" on the famous island green 14th hole, custom trees and a bunch of superb custom objects created by our good friend Steve Richardson. During testing it was found the course sets up really well for Modified Stableford format thanks to the many high risk/reward holes.

Hope you guys enjoy both of these courses!

There have been a couple of updates this weekend for CustomPlay Golf as follows...

9th July

Press Ctrl+M at any time to display memory information.
Fixed the "disappearing textures" bug seen after changing screen resolution.

12th July

Fixed a problem introduced from the previous update - relating to the height of moving objects. Note to designers: the code has been split so old courses continue to use the old method but new courses (i.e. any course saved after this update) will use the new code. You should load and re-save any course you are working on and then check all moving objects behave as you wish.

Brian Silvernail has released the Jubilee Course at St Andrews.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Built in 1897, the Jubilee Course at St. Andrews first started out as a 12 hole course where ladies and beginners could play. In 1905, it was expanded to 18 holes and in 1988 it was re-designed to championship standards by Donald Steel.

This is a conversion of a course I created for the original Custom Play Golf. I would like to thank Steve Richardson for the use of his St. Andrews town objects. Thanks also to John Drolet for his help with the course and to Jim Dickson and Mike Jones for playtesting.

BJ has uploaded The Celtic Manor 2010 - Ryder Cup Edition.

This is a conversion of Jim Dickson's excellent CPG1 rendition with minor changes based on updates made by European captain Colin Montgomerie. Thanks to Nike for doing the bulk of the conversion work.

We now have some, (4 Female and 5 Male), new characters that BJ Weworski made for us, it's quite a nice addition to the others that we have because you can never have enough characters to choose from.

Users should be aware that if a player with only standard golfer ani's plays a user who is using the custom golfer ani's then they will see not see the other golfer (Invisible golfer texture basically) on the screen but the game will play just fine.

Available in the CustomPlay Golf download section at 24hr Gaming...

News

Due to conditions laid out in a major publishing deal the name of the game has been changed to World Golf Challenge 2011 and is 'promoted' by Hank Haney and Atari in America.

Other Updates

The amount of memory used when publishing courses has been greatly reduced.

World Golf Challenge 2011 has been updated. "Bobble" has been added to the ball when rolling which makes the ball behaviour much more realistic onfairway and putting rolls. We have also added 3 new shot cameras: "Ball Close", "Reverse Close" and "Hole".

A sunning new fantasy course is also available to download. "Burrangarra" is the latest masterpiece from Jim Dickson, based around a classic Australian seaside links with stunning views and challenging gameplay. If you already own World Golf Challenge then you can download the course now from the courses tab in the Portal.

(To keep all the updates in one place can a Moderator please retitle this thread to "World Golf Challenge 2011 News" please).
