so the compressed copy of a compressed image from a third party wasn't great ? :) A look at the full screen mode thanks to IGN.
do the cropped, compressed images designers post look anywhere close to what you see in the game ?
i'd wait and see the real thing |

"I had a look at the link Gunpowder made for some guy chosen to try the beta, he had never even played TW on the PC before.......
http://backnineblog.net/2009/06/04/tiger-woods-pga-tour-online-initial-beta-impressions/
IMO the graphics look like a video game, dunno if they are the end product graphics or not, but they don't look anything special, certainly not as good as TW08." |
Do you have any idea what kind of computer those compressed images came from? As is the case with ANY game, screenshots do not do the game justice and keep in mind that the game is still in VERY early beta..... |

" Just please tell us if TW Online(;its what its being called now, I guess) isnt anything like this World Tour Golf game I tried out to see what a browser golf game was like. Were actual real life pictures where used to make the course because I wouldnt be happy all at with this, but that would be even a bigger blow for you that have been playing this game for so long.

Having recently downloaded, played, and uninstalled WGT, I can assure you TWO is not going in that direction...." |
OK thanks Glad to hear all that, and I sure cant wait to see if I get chosen for the Beta. Since Im, lucky enough right now in my life to have so much free time on my hands, I can give input for whatever you longtime hardcore TW fans would like to see in the new game......
Not sure what the compress picture third party stuff does to a picture, and with me being new to all this computer technology stuff, Im guessing its not a good thing.

Oh yeah, One more thing before I go back to designer world. The reason I had ask this was because I thought the pictures I had seen from TW 2010 looked kinda life like to tell ya the truth. This is why I thought it might be like the TWG game I tried out while seeing what browser golf game was like.

The only reason I got into golf games, TW in particular, was the fact that there was a course archiect attached that allowed you to build your own courses, which is a wonderful and creatively rewarding hobby. Unfortunately it is totally unrewarding for EA, financially that is, so I would dare to bet that there won't be a CA to go along with TW2010. The odds of being able to play exisiting custom courses seem pretty slim, considering how much trouble we've had trying to keep the CA going since EA dropped it from the game in 2006 and the apparent fact that the announced 2010 version will differ considerably, softwarewise, from the original game. So I wouldn't keep my hopes up as far as customs are concerned, no matter what Jeff and Divotmaker say. It just wouldn't make logical sense. Short and good: If there's no CA I am not interested, so I probably won't be. If EA doesn't want people to gripe or speculate before the game is published, they should be a bit more forthcoming with info themselves. And Divotmaker, you're probably a nice enough guy, but I hate the way you keep hinting how you know it all and we'll just have to wait and see. Like you're some santaclaus or something. What's the harm in revealing whether or not there will be a CA available? I know you've sworn some silly corporate oath of secrecy, but surely that should only apply to 'sensitive' info. All this is just an advertizing game aimed at getting into our wallets and bank accounts of course. |

Tim has signed a NDA - Non Disclosure Agreement. This means he cannot disclose ANYTHING that EA has not approved to public information. I am currently under 2 or 3 of those as well for testing different titles with other game studios with EA. EA does not take these lightly, nor should the people that sign them. There are very serious legal ramifications in violating the terms of these legal agreements, besides the moral obligations as well. |

jmeier, If I were under a NDA, I wouldn't say that I know something but I can't say. It's the way of disclose which irritate lots of people.
If EA guys could get the customs in the game, they are really a flock of Genius. |

I'm not sure if there what is being talk about between you longtime TW fans that have been backing this game for years, but if this new TW doesn't have custom course designs in it. I'd be happy to stay right with TW 08 if these sites stay around, and I don't care if the new TW has killer graphics or even hands coming out of the screen giving me a back messages while playing. No course design means I will be bummed out big time, and if this TW community of 08 is still rocking, I'll be here along for the ride to do what I can to support it.
Figured I share my thoughts from a new blood of the TW community.

I for one love all the speculation and rumors. IT MEANS THERES A NEW GAME. Im about 99.9% positive that Tim has let the developers know what the community wants and from this community the number one want is a Course Architect Program.
NEXT I have already talked with TIM and as soon as he gets permission to start revelaing all the secrets. He will have a place on this site to keep everyone up to date. |

There is this thing called "marketing" and EA are genius's at it. If they wanted everyone to know everything that will be in the game, then they would wait until it is released before even mentioning it. Honestly, this time last year people were flooding the forums with their disgust of EA for no TW09 for PC and how EA was done with the PC version. Fast forward to today and EA is actually building a brand new game from the ground up. Just goes to show that EA is damned if they do and damned if they don't.
As far as my revealing anything other than what has already been revealed, jmeier stated it perfectly. I CAN'T! I have no interest in being sued for breaking the NDA. My apologies if you can't understand that. At the end of the day, you have a game to play now. More information is coming in the next few months and you are just going to have to be patient while EA develops this new product. Sorry if that doesn't set well with some of you, but I can't do anything about that.
Lastly, please show me ANY company, not just software companies who aren't trying to get into your wallets.....last I looked, you still have the final say in whether you purchase a product, don't you? |

It is called IP (intellectual property). EA also has competitors in the PC Golf business and they do not want to reveal to them what they are doing until they are ready to deliver on it....there is nothing silly about keeping information away from your competitors.... |

I would like to thank all who made positive, inteligent posts here. Most of this made good reading, informed me (enough to warrant some patience) and made me interested in the end result.
I have to say this though - I just cant let it pass.... if goro makes one more childish, ill informed, rude and insulting post - can he be shown the red card??? PLEASE! I cant believe he has gotten this far.
There are some like minded people here trying to have a spirited, but dignified, discussion, based on what Tim is comfortable to provide, on what experience the rest of us have, and on what hopes we have for the future of a game we all obviously feel passionate about
cheers,

very well said, i concur. thanks for the info you have given, Tim, looking foward to hear what you will say when your able to say it. until then, lets keep it clean. internet arguing is childish, IMO, and makes people look like idiots. Thank you EA for atleast bringing the series back for the pc, and I cant wait. Keep up the great work admins at keeping this site up to PAR, lol. Peace, don |
