I have 2 choices, would someone who knows about such things, give me some advice as to which one is better?

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Games/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A2349736#Overview

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Graphics_Cards/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&sku=A1586542

These meet my powersupply, which is 375watts, PCIE express.

Or suggestions would be apppreciated. These cards are also Direct X 10, is that compatible with 08?

P.S. I am currently using an ATI X300 128mb card, and want to move up, But, I dont want any junk, and I dont want to replace my power supply, so If you think these 2 cards would be junk, feel free to be honest. I dont have money to burn, but Im tired of not being able to play some customs.

Thanks again to all who help. I just want to be sure, one of these would be a step up.

Hi Axe

Personally, for TW08, I would always go for the ATI card (I believe there is the slanted grass effect with NVidia cards) and the HD3650 512mb, is a very good card. I currently use the HD3870 1GB but I also found it was better to upgrade my PSU to a Thermaltake 650. So, if you are not wishing to go down the route of upgrading both card and PSU, then the ATI is in my own opinion, the better choice.

Cheers

Zee

Howdy ZB, thank you so much, that is what I wanted to hear, and the price is right.

Take care bud, and thanks again, Im ordering right now. lol

Oh, and does the DirectX10 work for 08? Ok, I see that it takes 9 and higher.

I would go with the nVidia card( I have the same model and can run every thing maxed),the ATI card is 128bit,nVidia 256 bit and the nVidia GPU is much faster, the link below shows the huge difference,TW is not one of the games tested but it shows the difference between the two cards.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_3650/9.html

The DX10 thing does not matter much as TW08 does not use any DX10 code but TW10 most likly will,DX 10 is only used in Vista and DX11 will be used in Windows7,DX10 card are backwards compatible with all other versions of DX.

here is another site with cards, good site with fast service and maybe the lowest prices on the net.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%201305520548%20106792522%201067937365&name=GeForce%209600%20GT

some great prices on bigger cards but you would need a bigger power supply, which they also sell on the site.

Larry,

I'm not 100% sure but I believe my card is the HD 3650. I have had no problems whatsoever with it. Let me check on that just to make sure tho :)

I concur as the 9600 GT is a nice card and should be faster than the 3650 for sure.

I would have to go in favor of the Nvidia 9600 series over the ATI 3600 series also. And as Carn posted, Newegg is probably hands down the best place to get one at.

You can go to ATI site and search drivers for your card... Check the driver you have now in device manager
START / Settings / Control Panel / System / Hardware // Display Adapters .. right click your ATI card and choose properties... Youll find the driver version there
:)
