I was thinking of Winged Foot but then I saw that just got released. The Country Club in Brookline is another one, but someone did that one too. Hmmm.
I looked at Brookwater in Brisbane and it looks like a great course with rolling terrain. Too bad the aerial imagery is not very good though.
I have looked at Newport Country Club before and actually live not too far away that I could check it out firsthand. Thanks for the kind words Musty.
Another course that looks fun is Fossil Trace in Golden, Colorado -- a James Engh design with his trademark muscle bunkers. An old dinosaur dig site converted into a golf course. Fun structures for jimi to do. :) Check it out: fossiltrace.com
Still tied up coaching little league and softball and then off to Cape Cod for a couple weeks of vacation ... errr, holiday, as they say across the pond. So won't be for a while.

that's funny! I lived in Denver (the foothills) for about 4 years and never played this one...
Jim Engh also built "The Sanctuary" which has the coolest concept for a course!
They wouldn't let the owner of Remax in to Castle Pines so he built his own course, and he is the only member!

That Fossil course has some cool bunkers, and have fun on your vacation Homeboy.
I gotta go play some real golf myself here soon because I've only played once or twice since my wife got Her disease 4 or 5 yrs ago. Used to play once a week or more during my golfing hay days. TW really helps filling that golf void for me, and I'm so glad I found this game & community.

Steve, Roger already did a wonderful version of Royal County Down and Rowan already designed Leopard Creek which is one of my favorite courses. I guess you haven't played them before although you definitely should give them a try. They're both for the 08 version of the game and outstanding designs. |

That looks like a real cool course to do, and that green on the 9th hole(Donald Ross) is just screaming mean. That trench going through it like that is very cool........:)

That a sweet course, and I love links. The cemetery would be hard to recreate unless their is some headstone library I don't know about yet. The 15th par 3 just looks like a good one with the ocean winds staring ya in the face. Plus the 11th green is cool with that fairway indeed. Maybe one day when I become a OK designer, I can try a course like this because I sure would love to make a links course one day without question.

Wow, this place has it all doesn't it, you designers sure are on top of things. Thanks for the pictures & link Axe, and with me trying learn a million things right now my roaming through libraries time has taken a back seat right now, but I get to know all this eventually.

I played The Architects Club, the course was nice. It had good bent greens! Basically every hole had a different style of bunkers on it. That is what I took from the round. The course really didn't have trees on it either. I played the tips and the back 9 was kind of long like 3,800 yards or so. I think I shot even or 1 under on the back. I had a bad front and shot like 40. The back 9 kind of wore me out with hitting long irons in the holes. The Augusta 13 hole was kind of cool. I went for the green and landed short in front of the creek. Got lucky than chipped up to like 3 feet for an easy bird. I birded 16 and made some great pars on 17 and 18. #17 was a great par 3, from what I recalled.
The 1st hole was an easy par 5, it was supossed to be an Old Tom Morris hole. The Merion (Hugh Wilson) hole, really didn't look like Merion.

Cool Beans Whatever course you do, I know I'll be waiting in the wings for it, that's for sure. I have notice there are so many killer courses out there, and it seems it would be difficult to decide each time which course to do.
I know once I ever have to pick a real course to attempt, I'll have a tough time picking which course to do on the side. Thought about it last week or so when I decided to jump in & try a real course, and it was hard while looking at all them great golf pictures.......... I would see one, and then go.... "Heck yeah, that's the one !!!! " Then see another course, and go......... "Man, that's a killer course too" Then think, that means I can't try that other one I just saw....... It was pulling me apart from within, tough picking just one, I must say.......
