| First off, that is not what is been hitting here of late. Friday it was 3 different html exploits. It is this kind of calous attitude that causes me the reason for my concern. The apparent lack of caring by the staff. Consider this my last visit. |

And more forward jmeier, speaking of staffers not caring, and I believe you are a staffer at PGAX, don't go down that road of saying. I'd hate to post email from you saying one thing and not doing another. |

You know what Jackass take you and your attitude some place else. Do not come over here and insult me or the staff as not caring. I dont see you rushing to donate the 10,000 dollars its going to take to completely fix the problem. The bot that keeps attacking the site is attacking all sites. Most sites have been re-written in the last 9 years and do not have any security holes. I have been patching all holes as soon as they are found but this site has ALOT of pages and ALOT of code that was written at the time by complete amateurs. So if your attitude would kindly step back and read some of the posts Ive made you would understand whats going on. I also took an entire day and devoted it to this problem and for a month it worked flawlessy, they found a way around it and it took us a little bit of time to fix the problem. And NO there were no posts becaue the staff who doesnt care was concerned completely on fixing the problem. |

When are people going to learn. The reason AV programs are available to you is for YOUR protection. It is not anyone else's responsibility to see that you are protected. We all need to protect ourselves......period. Any virus, trojan, spyware, malware or whatever you want to call it was probably brought to this site by one of us, whether by complete accident or on purpose. I'm sure this is not the only site on the web that people's AV programs pop up with an alert. So, to the folks that provide a site like this and all the other sites that I may visit.....Thank You for providing this to me. I'll protect myself as I'm sure all site providors will protect themselves. Just one more question, who's job is it to provide the condom?? |

As I understand it, the problems that this site (and a load of others)have experienced are not virus, trojan (and definitely not adware or malware) attacks. They are merely attempts to 'hijack' the browser off to another site that is able and willing to deliver these. The correct term for this is 'SQL injection'; The nature of the dynamic content on these sites means that it is not 'hard coded', like your first homepage attempt from the Big Dummies Guide to Web Programming. Those that know the method of this attack will not need further explanation, suffice to say that the admins at this site have done an admirable job in tightening the coding on the site to minimise disruption. At no time have the end users been exposed to any risk, unless they allowed any 'hijacked' operations to install software or make other alterations to their systems. This same risk level could occur at any other site that operates the same design as this one, including many online shops, forums, and less secure financial systems.
As always, the less informed should guard their ignorance. But please don't prove your ignorance to others. |
