Well let me start off by saying Hello My Name is Larry and have been playing Tiger Woods Golf since 2003 <- Never played online in 2003 though, started that in 2004(online golf)
I had the pleasure of playing someone last week and the round started off good for me my opponent started with a par. Well as we came to about the 5th hole at Westchester the player made a comment that I played way above my rating at that time 1501 and I explained that I played a lot of Expert and I have my fanny handed to me quite often thus the low rating what I did not explain that most of my Pro play is in Tournaments not in Match play but I can hold my own against about anyone in the game most days, At the pro play level.
Well with the next couple of minutes a comment was made that a NEW player such as myself (had the game the first day that it came out)should not be handing the person the fanny kicking that was being handed out on this evening. As usual I would ignore these snide comments and kept playing the round as if you check my disconnects I dont quit very often in fact just once this year due to a lock up during a game. Well the 15th hole was being played and I had been doing my normal complimenting to my opponent but no replies were coming back and after we teed off a comment was made to the effect that this would not happen on this persons accord to which I replied what is that supposed to mean, as usual no reply came back. Now for the final hole I teed off and my opponent Says I will not give you a CHEATER the satisfaction I replied to the effect that you need to not only check the players rating but also their player stats and that I am no cheater. Well you guessed it that person quit the match and quickly got offline. Well I am old enough now to not usually let things like this bother me but 1st I am no more a cheater then anyone else who plays this game, I enjoy meeting people online and having a chat it is good fun Winning or Losing, and second it is just a game and I treat it that way. But in the end no one wants to be called a Cheater. Oh yes this person I played was a Legend 10 with a 2000 rating which I did not Check until after the match which I did finish with no opponent. I dont check ratings never have did not want to start but I will now, I do check stats though to make sure I am playing someone competitive, par 3s 2.3, 4s 3.2, and so on or someone with in that range. I have on purpose left this persons name and club omitted from this post to not embarrass them it could put some shame into their game so to speak. Anyway would anyone in here handle this differently ?

| unfortunately when you play this game online and you are good at it then yes people will bring out the old must be cheating sayings...my advice would be to ignore them and just enjoy the game, you will quickly find out who not to play and who is fun to play against |

Hi Larry, sorry to hear of your experience. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. The first 3 holes Id missed 2 fairways with my drives but sank 3 20foot putts to make birdies. I was then asked are you a 3 clicker? to which i replied yes and then got accused of using a speeder to slow down my meter, which i have never heard of. He then replied no one can putt like that on 3 click so your cheating. I told him I had been lucky with the putts, which I certainly had, but i have been playing 3 click since 2007. Like you the game then went on in silence from my opponent.
I have never cheated at this game as i fail to see what satisfaction can be gained by winning at all costs. I play the game to enjoy myself win or lose. Like you I now check out a players stats as they give a better indication of their abilities.

| I have been called a cheater many times, but that is because I do cheat, in a manner of speaking. I trueswing and i use an edge, which I make no secret about. I dont see it so much as a cheating device, tho, more as a time saving device. Were I to play without my edge, Id never be able to finish a round on time, lol. |

| i am a 3-clicker and i also use an edge but so far it has not really helped me.....perhaps i should stop bashing my mouse with it rofl |

I cant say i am totally cheat free also I also edge and i have a kensington mouse and driver I use both and I also free hand but only when I do True Swing H My last round free hand was +7 so I consider that a victory Putting kills me free hand that is where all my extra strokes came from

| though i wouldnt call edgers cheaters at the NOVICE or INTERMEDIATE levels, i would say that it is definitely an unfair advantage at the ADVANCED and EXPERT levels. you may as well be 2-clicking then since the edge makes your ball fly straight. that is why, since i 3-click, when i play at the ADVANCED and EXPERT levels, I always set my own game for 3-click only to weed out any chance of edgers. i have the highest respect for true swingers who freehand. like anything, a person gets better with practice. practice freehand and youll get good at it. |

| BRAVO! I have been wondering when this subject was coming to a head. I wanted to start a thread like this for quite sometime now, BUT, thought that the thread would get killed, since no one likes to talk about cheating or as some have called it...an edge. Its awwwwful funny to see all the leaders on the expert leaderboards are trueswingers. Gotta have that Kensington mouse and software to get there. Which brings another interesting question to mind...WHO is actually the BETTER gamer...a 3-click expert player, or the trueswinger? No wonder I cant get anyone in the EASO lobby to play me at the expert level, 3-click. They dont have that edge...so they shy away. |

Nice one Larry. You start a thread about being accused of cheating and then admit to using an edge yourself! The words pot, kettle and black spring to mind.

| Well said Anteater, thats just what I was thinking. Maybe its just me but I cant figure out how someone can feel good about winning any game, not just this one, if they know they have cheated. Theres no money involved, so whats the point? |

| Otto, I am up for a game anytime. I just want to play a TRUE expert player. Being a 3-click player at the expert level is the ULTIMATE level of this game, in my opinion. Anyone can rub a mouse back and forth and up and down, I want to see TRUE timing and skill, that is what you get with 3-click expert play. |

| Can I please answer that question...only the ones that have been affected by the edgers are the only ones that have bothered to respond to this thread. That is why it has stayed civilized. The edgers are responding to this thread, by being at the TOP of all the advanced and expert leaderboards week in and week out. Change all advanced and expert tourneys from here on out to 3-click, then the civilization as we know it, pertaining to this thread, will cease to exist. JMO. |

| It sure is amazing how people will even cheat at an online golf game. I just hope these same edjers and mouse hacks dont ruin the integrity of the real game and just stick to the pc game. The whole integrity of golf is to be an honest player, and try to improve against yourself. Not to see who can manipulate the mouse by hacking the best. |
