No Course Architect would be bad enough but no Course Utility ??? This will be the beginning of the end for serious online play, as Pat said above all that read this need to go to EAs forum and note their disapproval.

This is crap...

I feel like going into programming just so I can develope a course utility for the game.
Not to mention a course architect.

Can anyone at this site do that?
I know there are other ways to upload custom courses onto tw games like the ones on this site but arent they directly routed to the course utility.

Just hoping someone has the skills to do such a thing.

I have Faith theres a comp. wizard out there that will figure it out...its just the fact EA is so ignorant to step backwards
on their marketing skills. I dont like knocking things down, but, I will say TW in counsel is crap compared to P.C.

Good Luck EA.

When TW08 courses+libraries are in same format as previous years (.TCR+.TCL extension), there is good chance we can add custom courses in TW08 game, but we will have to adjust the registry settings.....
Also possible EA will release CA08 later, together with Course utilities08.....

I have TW08 for the PC and the courses and libraries are in the same format (.tcr and .tcl). Im going to try and add some courses from 2007 and see if they work. Not entirely sure how to go about it though with no course utilities.

Good news files have same extensions(.TCR and.TCL).
But copy and paste course file (.TCR) and required libraries (.TCL) from TW07 to TW08 is not enough.
We will also have to try to adjust the TW08 registry. When we are using Course utilities or CLsetup , all courses+all libraries will be added automatic in TW registry.

IMPORTANT:
Registry is database where windows and programs (example TW game) store their data.
Always make sure that you know what you are doing when changing the registry or else just one little mistake can crash the whole system !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried that already and it did not work. Hope you have better luck.

I will be in contact with the PC Producer sometime this next week to talk about this glaring omission (Course Utilities) in the game.

I think I will wait until a program is created which can sort it out. I dont want to go fiddling with the registry. But it is good that the same extensions are used.

Since they are the same TCR/TCL format, that gives some hope. Ive already been thinking of ways to make it so users can import customs. Once I get my hands on a copy of 08 I will have a better idea of how it can be done.

Wow, hey if they are in the same format but no course ult., something like a new Jorgens Installer program could do the trick. I understand he is retired from this, but just maybe the entire custom courses for 08 depends on him, or someone who understands that type of programming. It is kind of a let down that the EA team, seems to have dropped us, custom course users. I am just speculating reading these posts, cause I have no clue about 08....Lets just hope for the best.....

Yeah, Im thinking something like a CL Setup for TW08 would do the job.

Well the registry workaround works contrary to first reports... an installer and simple work arounds are being worked on as we speak..
