Glenn Stevens aka birdman1952 (on this site) or XXXbirdman (on Golf-4Fun site) passed away in May. I only found out today. I can remember playing against him on the old EA servers and he later played on Golf-4Fun. We chatted a few times on Skype in more recent years. He was a pretty nice guy. Here is his obituary.
Glenn R Stevens October 1, 1952 to May 23, 2025
Glenn R. Stevens was born October 1, 1952, to William (Steve) and Anna (Noonie) Stevens in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2025, following a five-year battle with renal cell carcinoma.
Glenn was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1970. He graduated from LSU in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and minors in Math and Physics.
Upon his college graduation, Glenn was recruited by Texaco Inc., and he went to work in their Bellaire, Texas office as a Geophysicist. In 1976, Texaco transferred Glenn to their Latin America/West Africa office in Miami, Florida, where he met his future wife Kay (Arnett).
Glenn moved to Houston, Texas in 1982, where he went to work for POGO Producing. He and Kay married in 1983, and he continued his career with small oil and gas companies, taking early retirement in 1994, when Glenn and Kay moved to Fort Morgan, just outside Gulf Shores, Alabama. There they realized their dream of building a beach house where they lived for 25 years. Glenn became active in the Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department, rising to the rank of Chief.
After retiring from the Fire Department, Glenn blessed Kay by taking her back home to Texas in 2019. They bought a hill country home outside of Bertram, Texas, and Glenn passed away enjoying the beautiful view surrounded by Kay and his beloved dogs, Cinnamon and Emma.
Glenn is survived by Kay, his wife of 42 years; his beloved dogs Cinnamon and Emma; brother Mark (Linda) Stevens of Parhams, Louisiana; sister Bonnie (Jay) Suter of Spring, Texas; sister Louise (Pete) Keasberry of Gulf Shores, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; First Methodist Church of Marble Falls, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr, Marble Falls, TX 78654; or Living Grace Canine Ranch, 160 Elaina Lane, Bertram, TX 78605. |
