| Is there a way to permanently disable this feature to avoid having to 'clear traces' after every shot? |

| I think the only way is to go with 'follow every shot'. That doesn't leave a tracer, but it also follows the shot. |

There is no on or off option.
In practice mode only, you can switch between 'always follow' or 'never follow'. It's found in the main menu inside the game while practicing.
When you choose always follow there is no tracer, but you follow each shot so you can't stay where you are and hit multiple shots from the same spot. If you choose never follow, you stay in the same spot and can hit multiple shots, each of which shows a tracer. |

| thanks, is there an addon tracer available for normal game play? the ball can be hard to see at times |

But you could switch from fixed view to ball cam-view if you wanted. Easier to see the ball that way.
From the main screen, Options - Game - Camera View and select Ball-Cam instead of Fixed |

| thanks for your help, i prefer the set camera behind the player, i tried using a custom ball with color to see if it helped but i can't get it to work, any tips on adding custom balls? |

Hiya elwayed, another color of golfball wont help in my opinion.
This is something you can try:
After you hit the ball, then hit the number 5 key on your keyboard.
( not the number 5 key at right side of your keyboard, but hit the number 5 key at left side on top of your keyboard ).
That should give you a very close up of the ball, while its flying.

thanks for the tip, i thought i would try a custom ball just to see, it said to install it in....My Documents\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Golfball
it does not show in game, is there anything else i need to do? |

To see the custom golf, then you have to rename the file to the correct name.
It depends what golfball you are using, when you are using the EA Sports Golf Ball, then you have to rename it to: 1046.dds
( Note: you will not see this ball in Game Face II, only in the game.)
So look what golfball you are current using, and then you have to rename it to the correct name, here is list with help:
1046 = ea sports 1 piece action
1072 = precept u-tri extra distance
1073 = precept PWR drive
1074 = precept ladies extreme
1076 = dunlop loco dart
1077 = bridgestone b-330 -s
1078 = bridgestone E-5
1079 = bridgestone E-6
1080 = callaway hx pearl
1081 = callaway hx tour
1082 = callaway hx tour 56
1083 = dunlop loco motion
1085 = nike one black
1094 = precept lady- S 3 yellow
