Several people are using Win10, for most people it works.
( When you have a Direct X memory error message, then you first have to do method 1 or method 2 or method 3, desscribed a bit lower ).

For all users,Follow steps below:
On desktop you should have TW08 program icon.
This is how you can get the TW08 icon on your desktop:
Go to the bin folder in TW08, see path below:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\bin

Now inside the bin folder right click the TW08.exe icon, and in list choose: Copy to...and choose: Desktop
Now you will have the Tw08 icon on your desktop.
Now you will have to run TW08 in compatibility mode, see help below.

Automatically Change Compatibility Mode Settings for App in Program Compatibility Troubleshooter:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
( When you have a Direct X memory error message, then you first have to do method 1 or method 2 or method 3, desscribed a bit lower )

Right click on TW08 icon on desktop, and click/tap on: Troubleshoot compatibility
Click/tap: Continue
Then click second option: Continue troubleshoot program
Now choose option on top: Try recommended settings
And click: Test program
Now TW08 should start, when it started close TW08 again
Now click: Next......and choose the option on top: Save the settings for this program
After that TW08 should work.
Important note: When you do the compatibility thing, it is possible your system will say it will not work in compatibility mode or TW08 will not start, but just finish the steps above and restart your PC and it should work !!!!

You can try this when you have message: Direct X is reporting there is not enough memory:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 3 methods, you have to choose 1 method.

Method 1: ( by JoSummer )
--------
You can get around this problem by limiting the system RAM. To do so ..

1. press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog, type msconfig, and click/tap on OK.

2. under the Boot tab in System Configuration, click on the Advanced options button

3. check the Maximum memory box and set the value to 4095, hit ok and reboot the system when asked.

You shouldn''t have any disadvantages by doing so, because there''s only a few applications or games that are actually addressing (benefit from) more than 4GB system RAM.

Method 2: ( by CutesyButton )
---------
I do have another workaround however, where you don''t have to restrict RAM so I''l put it here as another option.

Step One:-
Go to : http://dege.freeweb.hu/ and download the latest version of DG Voodoo.

Step Two:-

Extract the DGVoodoo Setup program and DDraw.dll and D3Dlmm.dll files into the bin directory of your Tiger Woods 08 install.

Step Three:-

Run the DgVoodoo setup program.

Step Four:-

Head to the directX tab and uncheck "Disable and passthru to real DirectX".

Step Five:-

In the VRAM drop box, type a reasonable value like 512000 KB (note the space between the number and KB) - while it is a drop down box with 3 values, it accepts typed ones as well.

Note- The resolution changes didn''''t work for me here, so I had to use the universal widescreen program (from widescreengaming) and the Tiger 2004 (Custom Menu) res patch to get 1920x1080.

Step Six:-

Run the game, and hey presto. Can confirm this works for Tiger 07 as well.

( My Setup:- FX8350/Radeon HD7950 3GB/16GB Memory )

Method 3: ( by JoSummer )
----------
Download the attached zipfile below, and extract or unzip it first
Now copy and paste the DDraw.dll file into the bin folder of the game installation!
The bin folder is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\bin

Note: When you did one of the 3 methods and you got rid of the message, Direct x is reporting there is not enough video memory:
Now also do the steps described on top of this page: Automatically Change Compatibility Mode Settings for App in Program Compatibility Troubleshooter

When you can t get it to work with the steps above, then maybe an option is to use Virtual Machine in Win10
It is described on link below, you can also find some other help there.
The virtual Machine is described in link below on part 4: 4. Virtual Machines
The link says you can install XP in virtual machine, but i think Win7 should work aswell on virtual machine for TW08
Here is the link:

When you are using a widescreen monitor, then you can also use the widescreen patcher:
http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=8879&forum=11

or easier way, you can use the attached zipfile ( Thanks JoSummer ):
Download the attached zipfile, and unzip or extract it.
Now copy and paste both files in the bin folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\bin

- Game GUI set to widescreen 1920x1080
- 800x600 = 1920x1080
- 1680x1050 = 2560x1440 (probably not selectable in your game?)

To all members: I created this new Win10 topic today, all info and solutions are in this topic now, you will find this topic always on top in each section of the Forum.
The Forum was cleaned up a bit, because we had lots of topics about Win10, and members didn t know where to look.

( Note: TWCaddie08 and Win10 is still a seperate sticky topic in Forum section: TW Caddie 08 Support ):

I'm not a programmer, only a humble user, and I have Win7 so I'm just thinking out of the box here.I was just curious as to whether one, or both, of the following may be a possible answer to the issue.

1] Download and install DirectX 11 on your W10 PC. Seems that I have been reading that DirectX 12 is what some are having issues with.
2] If you can find an earlier version of W10, download and install that you can turn auto updates off. Take a look at this video that describes how to make a W10 flash install drive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLfnuE1unS8&t=458s. He also has an install video from that same flash drive. Do not let it update automatically. Just make sure that you keep your current product key. You can access it by looking at your system info in the control panel. If you stay away from torrent or suspicious sites, run from a secured connection and have your firewall/antivirus software operating then you "should" be OK. I have never had updates active on my laptop(using W10) and haven't had an issue. But do this at your own risk. Microsoft does some pretty funky and underhanded stuff(spyware alert) by way of the updates. What Microsoft considers a critical update and what is really needed for the OS is two different things.

I hope this helps!

Pat - If you are leary of this being on the site, please delete my comment. It won't hurt my feelings.

This was provided by Gerrylove1:

Select setup.exe on the TW08 instalation disk & run that in compatibility mode
So on disk right click on the Setup.exe....choose properties....compatibility....and check box: Run in compatibility mode
And in list choose: Vista ( or maybe xp )

Hello,

I followed all the step exactly as stated and I still get the same issue with the direct x memory issue.

System is brand new:

Ryzen R5 1600
Nvidia GTX 1060
8 GB Ram.

are these fixes for AMD video cards only?

Thanks

Hello, it should work for nvidia cards too, it was never proved it works for all systems though.
After you tried the fix, did you restart PC , some fixes only work after you restart pc.

Hi Pat,

Think for the past few months you''d noticed I commented TW08 won''t work on my internal graphics(Intel HD4600) or the external nVidia G 740M anymore. Internal the game flickers non stop while external will hang the computer once the score card is shown where I''ve to manually switch off the PC.

So for the last 2 weeks I''ve installed Virtual Box and then installed Win XP and then TW08 hoping to get it to work but alas, TW08 won''t run as the graphics card is "assigned" by Virtual Box and not recognized by TW08 even though I''ve installed the Additional Pack from Virtual Box. If only can find a way to install the proper drivers I''m sure the game can be played but still finding a solution to that.

Regards,

McAlfie

Sometimes older drivers will work better for TW08.
On the link below, you can find some older nvidia drivers, maybe it is worth to try an older driver:

Hi gang, and you too Gunpower.

I have tw8 up and running without the errors. Problem is not being able to resolve screen resolution. Tried the fixes here to no avail. Any ideas? Only 2 choices in game, doesn''t seem to have any affect. I''m on a wide screen, tried the DDraw.dll, didn''t help.

Ok, found the post about this. Just can''t find the DL.

Hiya skoville, you have to run TWCaddie08 as administrator, and you have to use the correct version of TWCaddie08 ( 32 or 64 bit ).
Just follow the steps on link below:

I''''''''m starting to hate W10. I still get access denied even though I have access.

OK. Changed to "Run as Administrator" in profile.

You have any tricks for reinstalling my courses?

It must see the courses I added (from the old file) because I have to click a bunch of boxes to over-right or skip to add the course through TWCaddie. Man, is this a pain,

Hiya skoville, i am afraid you will have to reinstall all custom courses and libraries with TWCaddie08.
Copy and paste is not working, you will have to reinstall with TWCaddie08
