So I have the (;ciderised) Mac port of TW08, I cant run TWCaddie on my machine (;at least not inside the cider wrapper). What i was wondering is how to install these courses manually, where do I have to place the files and do I have to edit any files within the files? FYI the Mac version is the Windows version inside a compatibility wrapper so the directory structure should be the same.
Another thing I was thinking could work would be using TWCaddie on a Windows machine and then copying the affected files back into my port.
Either way it would be great to know where to put the new files and which, if any, existing files are modified.
Cheers, cant wait to get playing new courses TW08 just has too few!

EDIT: found some usefult info here http://www.coursedownloads.com/forum/posts.asp?post=6310
Im trying to install Celtic Manor, Ive got all the libraries and stuff downloaded and placed in .../Libraries and .../Courses. What Id like to know now is what to put in the registry to make the game see the new course.
Cheers

Okay, here's how my manual install of a course on the Mac port is going...

I have referenced every new file in filelist.txt and added the course to the registry like so :

[Software\\EA Sports\\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\\Courses\\7173_celticmanorreso] 1182357885
"FileName"="C:\\Program Files\\EA SPORTS\\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\\Courses\\7173_celticmanorreso\\celticmanorresortcourse.tcr"
"Flag"="C:\\Program Files\\EA SPORTS\\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\\Courses\\7173_celticmanorreso\\flag.dds"
"InHouse"=dword:00000000
"Logo"="C:\\Program Files\\EA SPORTS\\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\\Courses\\ 7173_celticmanorreso\\logo.dds"
"Name"="Celtic Manor Resort 2010 Course"
"Text"="C:\\Program Files\\EA SPORTS\\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\\Courses\\7173_celticmanorreso\\course.txt"

However, I'm not sure what to do with the library files – I have all the required libraries (see http://www.coursedownloads.com/coursesource/download.asp?id=7173) downloaded and placed in ...\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Libraries\ but how are they referenced in the registry? ... perhaps someone could post what the registry should look like once a course (this specific one could be helpful) is installed.
At the moment I still don't see the course in the course select screen.

Thanks again,
shitpeas

The number in the brackets: {72FC74C3-C356-4568-B391-20E2E0C9C4E8}
This is the course guid number, it is a very important number. All courses and libraries have a unique guid number.
When the game is looking in the registry it will not look for coursenames and library names, but it will look for the guid numbers.
Maybe first try to install one library and one course.

Some notes: PROGRA~1 = program files
EASPOR~1 = EA Sports
TIGERW~1 = The first TW game you installed on your system
I first installed TW08 ( TIGERW~1 ).....after that i installed TW07 (TIGERW~2)

Cool, thanks a lot that's a great help!
The only guid number I can't find now is the one for the course itself!

Brilliant! It worked!
Although the logo didn't appear in Course Selection (just a blank hex).

I Exported my courses and libraries to two notepad ( txt ) files.
There are hundreds of courses and all required libraries are in the list.
I did it on my old xp system where i have most TW08 courses realeased from 2008 - 2010.
In the first notepad file you will find the courses and also the guid numbers for each course.
In the second notepad file you will find a list of all required libraries and also the guid numbers.
The easiest way to find the library in the long list in the textfile:
Open the libraries file with notepad.....on top click: Edit...and choose: find ( or search ).
In search box type the name of the library you want to find.

Important note: Some of the courses ( PGAX and CGX courses )are not available for download anymore on Coursedownloads.
So it is good idea to look first the course is still available for download before you add the registry entrees.

I attached the courses and libraries textfile in a zipfile, see attached zipfile below:

You can easy change your username:
On top of Coursedownloads homepage go to: My Account......inside you will find option: Edit User Name

Strangely I can't get any more courses to work. Celtic Manor is great, but Loch Lomond doesn't work (asks for a reinstall) and Troon is a no show in the list.
I'm pretty sure I haven't made any obvious errors here – everythings added to registry and filelist.txt.
I'll carry on tinkering anyway!

When you want to start a course, and you receive message: Cannot find file, you must reinstall....
It usually means you are missing a library, or one of the required libraries is not installed correct.

So after trying to install a bunch of courses, the only ones that work for me are ones made bee TeeOffTowersey. I have no idea why though as Ive done nothing differently with any of the courses!
Im not complaining though, Celtic Manor and The Belfry are great courses!
Also, does anyone have the guid for royal county down textures and objects as well as St Mellion - Nicklaus course?
Cheers
