I have a MAJOR, MAJOR problem, and somebody with some big-time knowledge of the game can hopefully help out, i was just playing the game last night, game was running fine as it always does. Go to start a game tonight & i get this message "couldn't open course text file-please make sure course disc is inserted" now NONE of my courses or libraries show at all??? even with the disc in the drive. Now i read & read on the forums here concerning this, and to my surprise did not find alot of information on this, now i did find a lil info on this matter involving "individual courses" but what the heck happened to ALL of my courses & libraries not showing??? Now i did read on another post here in course caddy 08 concerning courses not showing, etc. I read where people are having "similar type" problems and one of them recommended doing a search for your .tcr files, which i found all my custom courses & libraries. Now i pointed my course caddie 08 to the courses & libraries, it had me "re-install" some (i installed 3 courses & all of there perspective libraries) and it said the install on everything "was sucsessful" checked everything & said true on all 3 courses, i go to load the courses up with my buddies and it gives me another error??? Now 1st off, i do not understand what the hell happened to all my customs (crz's & libs) i did not touch nothing as far as game files, playing with the registry, nothing??? Now i kept all my custom crz's & libs just in case if somebody does know how to maybe get them re-installed, plz help!!! |

hi Scotty.... When you are using Vista or Win 7: Maybe you can try to enable or disable UAC ( User account control )
Note: When you reinstalled TW08 you will have to reinstall all custom courses.
Sometimes the courses/libraries are deleted in the registry entrees, but are still installed in TW08 game: Can you still find the libraries in TW08 game? C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\libraries
Can you still find the Courses in TW08 game? C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
When they are still there:
The best thing you can do is: Go to ( default location ):
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\libraries
And make one big zipfile of the folder libraries
On pc go to ( default location ):
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
And make one big zipfile of the folder Courses
First install the big zipfile Libraries in TW08 game with TWCaddie08. ( when there are a lot of libraries inside it will take some time )
Now install the big zipfile Courses in TW08 game with TWCaddie08.

I am using Win7 Ultimate 32 bit, now my courses & libraries are not in "the default location" but i found them doing a search for .tcr and located them under:
C:\users\my name\application data\local\virtual store\program files\EA sports\Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
There all there, all the courses & all my libraries, now when i found them there, i tried "reinstalling" 3 courses & all the libraries that go with the 3 courses i reinstalled, everything seemed like it wen't right back in, told me installation was sucsessful, showed up as "true" under course caddy. But when i fired up the game it still game me an error when trying to join my friends lobby using one of the 3 courses that i "thought i reinstalled"??? p.s. UAC is enabled. |

Hmm, i had admin rights "already" clicked on & it didn't work previously, but i did turn off UAC (maybe that did it, cause my stock courses are back & just as a test i "reinstalled" 1 of my customs from where i located them on my hard drive (pinehurst no.2) and it worked, although the logo didn't show up, how come??? |

UAC is the most annoying feature ever created... when it's on you can't do anything and when it's off it keeps telling you to turn it back on |

Hi... When you install the custom courses, you have to install them straight from the downloaded zipfile. (;open TWcaddie08.....and dubble click the zipfile, and all files will be installed ) When you unzip the downloaded coursefile first, the logo + text + flag will not be installed. |

If you have already installed courses or libraries with UAC ON then turn it off the program now has access to he correct file paths so ALLL the courses and libraries that were installed prior to UAC being turned on or off will not work. |
