I have been using TW Caddie 08 since the beginning of time, so it seems. I downloaded a course today and my caddie didn't open. I clicked on it to manually open it and I would get the hourglass for a few seconds, then it disappeared and caddie never opened. I looked in the task manager and it shows it running but it isn't on my desktop anywhere. I uninstalled and reinstalled still wont work. I thought it may be something in my computer so I did a system restore to an earlier date, ran the caddie and nothing still. I ran a virus check, checked for malware, spyware and the such and nothing. Any ideas? |

If it's Vista you may have to right click and go to Run as Administrator... |

Do you have .NET Framework 2.0 or higher installed? |

Yes. It was working fine up until a few days ago. I must have downloaded something or changed something somewhere unknowingly. But what, where, how? I thought I may have done something so I did a system restore to an earlier date and it still wont work. Why is it when I click on the shortcut icon to start the program does it look like it wants to run ( I get the hourglass and then it disappears) but nothing happens. I see it running in my task manager under processes. |

Try turning "off" your User Account Control(UAC) in windows security. |

It tells me that some system files that the Caddie needs to run are either damaged or not installed properly. That is why I asked about the .NET Framework. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling that and making sure you have all updates to it and see if that helps. |

I have Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed. I don't recall doing any update on that lately. The UAC is for Windows Vista. |

I don't know what else to tell you. I have said maybe you have damaged system files. All you come back with is that you have the software installed. Obviously something that is critical to the running of the Caddie is not properly installed. But I can't tell from your responses if you have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling those critical pieces. From what has been written here, something has gotten damaged that is preventing that program from running right. I don't know any other suggestions than what has been given. |

Sorry if I misunderstood you. I went to add/remove programs and uninstalled the net framework. Tried running TW Caddie, nothing. I went to windows update and reinstalled the framework, ran caddie, still nothing happening. |

I dont know if this helps, but a long time ago I tried to learn the caddy. I had it installed but I think I had a problem, and decided to uninstall it and try again. But after uninstalling it, I still had the same problem. My point is that, maybe I was only partially uninstalling it, and maybe there is a way to FULLY UNINSTALL the caddy.
Hope this helps.. |

I use a program called Your Uninstaller (;http://www.ursoftware.com) to remove any programs. It completely removes the whole program, registry entries and all. |

Just a follow up. I reformatted the hard drive and installed Windows 7. TW Caddie now works. Thanks for all the replies. I am now in the process of getting a new graphics card and power supply. Who said computers would make our life easier? :) |
