I get this message when I run Anaylsis of files in Caddie. Spyglass Hill GC 2007: Missing or invalid file path. This course wanted to delete so I can install the Spyglass Hill GC 08 version.
I have tried to delete the course but to no avail.

Hi... First you will have to find out you still have Spyglass 07 installed in TW08. Go to the custom courses install folder and look if you can find folder: spyglass
Default path is:
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses.
When the course is not on location above do a search for spyglass:
On desktop go to: Start........choose: Find (; or search)....and type in search box: spyglass And choose to search in: All files and folders |

Gunpowder thanks for reply. The problem I will try to outline below. I cannot delete the file from TWCaddie list. See below pics.

The three post shows my problem.
How can I get 2007 version deleted from list? Can some let me know what the STA file in the My documents for TW08 courses is.
Thanks, Mike |

.sta files are the overheads generated by the courses when playing
best way is to find the course files as Gunpower identifies above, then link the Caddy to those files in the course properties tab
another way is to delete the Windows Registry for it: note: if youre not comfortable editing the registry - DONT you can do serious damage to your Windows OS by careless editing but finding/removing one Key for a TW course only effects that course
All the registry is (;in this case) - is the link that tells TW08 where to look for a course or library file
In XP click Start click Run enter regedt32 in the Run line (;regedt32, not regedit - and no quote marks)) a windows directory/folder looking screen comes up navigate down the directory tree on the left side to Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 then to Courses find the key name below (;615....} click on it - the course name etc should show on the right
Right Click on it - select Export save the Registry key somewhere, desktop or folder, whereever
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses\{6156196F-DA51-40CA-B70C-4AEC69154767}
after its saved, Right click, delete
go back to Caddie see if its fixed
if you need to import the Key back again, just click on the ...reg file you saved and its put back for you - in Vista - no clue :) |

i have no idea how to decode the .sta files and dont have the Spyglass libs installed, so cant start the course so it creates the .sta file
see Gunpowers post above to find out where you have (;if you do) the course files located
looking in the Registry, will also identify where the course files are located |

I believe you have to play the course and then reference the STA file when finished playing. At least one hole I believe it would work. |

i don't have the old libraries installed - can't start the game
can you find the course files? then it's likely fixable
if the course files are gone then you likely need to remove the registry entry, or reinstall the 2007 course to uninstall it

sorry, i'm not sure what you've tried and haven't
can you find the course files on your hard drive? are they in the same place as other courses (different folders obviously)
what didn't work above? the registry edit? the reinstall?
what are you doing when the message above pops up? re-installing Spyglass 07?
and {shudder} are you using Vista ? if so, there may be UAC/permissions issues there ... i don't use Vista, so someone else would need to step in |

No Vista me not go there yet. I would even buy a new compter with Vista installed. A resource hog.
I guess I will have to go fishing tomorrow around the registry. |

I finally got had to go into the registry to delete any courses where all info is not there and delete the reference. Then was able to load the new version of Spyglass Hill GC 08.
Thanks again JB for your incite.
