I tried looking around before posting.Sorry I couldnt find what I was looking for. I needed to restore my Vista system. Not 64 BTW. My friend took TW2008 and TWcaddie and put all of it to a external harddrive. He then replaced those files when everything was working fine.(;or so I thought) TW2008 shows my custom players but not the courses. TWCaddie only shows the stock courses. My customs(;and libraries) are all AWOL...... WTH did I do wrong, and can it be fixed?
Thanks,John |

What you did wrong is you didnt back up your registery.
FIRST TAKE ALL of your libraries and zip them up into one file. Its ok to just select all the folders and add to zip file.
Course folders need to be zipped up individually first.
Now take all the zipped course files and zip them up into one zip file, you may need to split them up into two or three zip files depending on how many courses you have.
Now open TW Caddie and click on Install, select the zip file with all of your libraries FIRST (DO NOT DO COURSES FIRST OR YOUR GOING TO BE CLICKING ALOT). Once the libraries are installed then do the same thing for the courses. |

OK,so I learned my lesson and I lost all my courses. Now I ran into another problem(;read above 1st). Seems like TW08 is ok and has the stock courses and my custom player is still intact.TW08 is also playing like I installed it for the 1st time.BUT.....now I went and started loading courses again from here using Caddie. They dont show up in the game but Caddie shows that it was unzipped without a problem. Man,Im distraught.I cant bear to think Im going to have to start from scratch. |

Since you did a reinstall of Vista have you made sure to check that the program is running as an Administrator. I think the Vista users read this has a tutorial on how to do this, if not its the post regarding vista install problems solved.

I did a system restore.Don't know if that makes a difference from what you said above. Caddie and TW08 work fine on there own it seems. What I'm seeing is the courses I zip to Caddie are there but not showing up in TW08 now.I just don't get it. I'm not that PC savvy. What I don't want to do is lose my player in TW.What should I do then to save him and maybe reinstall TW altogether... Thank you for your time, bro. |

What Im trying to say is that if the courses are showing up in TW Caddie but not your game then there is a permission problem with your registry. TW Caddie has permission to write but not to the correct registry keys. This can be solved by uninstalling all of your custom courses and then reading the post I gave a link for. After making sure the program is running in Administration Mode you then re-install your courses. |

Would the UAC have anything to do with this? I have mine turned off and everything works fine... although it is really annoying with Windows telling me I have a security problem. |
