First, season's greetings to all!!
This may be very picky, but I would like to change some of the course names to my
personnel preferences. An example would be "Canadian Open" to Glen Abbey, "Presidents Cup-Royale' Montreal" to Royal Montreal, etc.
I've changed the file name, altered the path to the file, but it still comes up with the old name.
It's just a little thing, but it really, really bothers me!!

Only the designer can change the course name, in the course architect file (.tca)

Thanks for the quick reply. I gather it's like a "locked course" in, dare I say it, Links 2003!!!
I'm a self confessed "golf course junkie" and I just have a certain format that I like
my courses to be in.
Another question for you, is there anywhere to download the 06 libraries, I'm having problems with Angus Glen and the Colonial courses, they boot me out to desktop, but all other courses are fine!!!

Hi....
It is good idea to do a Analyse installation ....to find installation problems and missing libraries:
When you are playing TW08:
open automatic installer TWCaddie08.......on top choose: File...and inside choose: Analyse installed files....and hit: Start
When you are playing TW07 or older:
open automatic installer: CLsetup.......on top choose: File...and inside choose: Analyze installation
When you have message of missing library:
On homepage of Coursedownloads site....on left side you will see section: Libraries
Inside section Libraries do a search for the missing libray.
When you found the missing library, download and install library in TW game, same way you installed courses or other libraries. |

Not correct.
You can change the name of the course inside the registry.
DO NOT DO THIS WHILE THE GAME IS RUNNING!
YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS GETTING MATCH UPS ONLINE AND SETTING TOURNAMENTS ONLINE. WILL NOT EFFECT ONLINE TOURNAMENTS YOU ARE JOINING AS LONG AS YOU KNOW ITS THE RIGHT COURSE.
LAST WARNING!!!! YOU CAN SERIOUSLY MESS UP YOUR PC BY EDITING THE REGISTRY SO USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Step 1:
Open the Run Command from your start menu and type in regedit and click OK.
Step 2:
Open the following key inside your registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
(;Replace Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 with your version)
Step 3:
Locate the course you want to change. The folders will have the GUID so you will have to open each folder and look to the right until you find the course you are looking for.
Step 4:
Edit the Name value by double clicking on it. Once done editing the name click OK.
Step 5:
Edit all the names you want and then close regedit. Start TW02 - 08 and the name will be changed.
(;IF YOU CHANGE LIBRARY NAMES TW CADDIE 08 AND CLSETUP WILL GIVE YOU ERRORS WHEN INSTALLING, DO NOT CHANGE THE LIBRARY NAMES) |
