Originally when installing custom courses using the regular Caddy, they would install, launch and play perfectly. The problem was that logos, splashes, designated course flags and text files were not recognized. Installing and using the Beta 64 Caddy solved all those mentioned problems. A Couple of days ago I downloaded and installed the latest seven custom course releases and noticed that the original problem had returned. I went into the Caddy and checked the Properties of all the newly installed courses. Everything appears to be correctly listed from File Path all the way down the list to Course Text. I have tried to reassign all the properties for these courses but doing so does not correct the problem. Any ideas as to why this would happen when with the other installed courses it worked just fine? |

Yup one word VISTA!
If the files are showing up in Caddie and are actually located where the program says they are then the problem lies in registery permissions. Caddie has permission but for some reason TW08 does not have permission to read those keys. |

Thanks for the reply TBM. The logo, flag, splash and text files are certainly not being recognized that is for certain. I am a little puzzled however as to why I was able to install 35 custom courses using the 64 bit Caddy and everyone of them is still installed showing everything fom logo to text perfectly in the game. The last seven that I tried to install yesterday however, all show none of the above listed files but launch and play perfectly. Maybe I am missing something in the istallation proceedure. I downloaded the courses to a Temporary folder. I then extracted them in that folder making sure that all extracted files were in an appropriate course folder for that particular course. I then opened the Caddy and clicked on the Istallation Archive. I then directed the Caddy to the extracted course folders located in the Temporary folder. In each course folder I double clicked on the course file and the Caddy installed the files into the TW08 game course folder. I then installed any needed libs into the game's Library folder. They launch and play perfectly but do not reflect any of the above mentioned files. |

After a little experimenting, I located the problem. Because for years using the Course Utility, I always extracted the course zip files into a temporary folder. With quite a few courses, the files are not packed into a course folder when extracted so if more than one course was extracted into the temp folder where the files were not in a course folder, it was a mess trying to figure out what files went with what course. My problem using the Caddy was that I was extracting the files first instead of opening the Course Installation Archive and extracting the zip file directly from the Archive into the TW08 game's Course folder. Extracting the courses first apparently caused a file association problem between the Caddy and the extracted course file. Everything is perfect now. I have logos. splash screens. course texts and the proper course flags. |

Glad to hear you figured it out, the 64 bit version I pretty much changed a few words and released it, never tested it. |
