Has anybody ever found a reason why some users are having problems with courses installed with TW Caddie not showing up when the game is started by the Clambakers launcher program? These courses do show up in the game when not playing on Clambakers. I know there were several of us having this problem a few months ago and wondered if anybody has figured it out yet. |

The closest I got to finding the problem was different exe file for Tiger Woods. The only way I recreated the problem was to use a no-cd exe along with clambakers launcher. Not saying thats it but its the only way I could recreate the problem. |

What I found was that if you had the game up when installing with the Caddie you experienced the problem. Solution to the problem is to uninstall the course then reinstall (make sure the TW is not operating). In the future, make sure TW is not up when installing with the Caddie.
I hope this helps. If it does not, please let us know. |

Mitch,
Are you politely trying to say a "ahem" non-legit copy of TW08? Looking at my friend's situation, I can see where this MAY in fact be his problem. I'll suggest to him that he shell out the $19 or so for a real disc. |

Hi. I am also having the issue with courses loaded with TWCaddie not showing up in the Clambakers tourney. I was working with Darryl at Clams, and eventually we discovered that TWCaddie is, for some reason, putting the registry entries in a different place than what is 'standard'.
Short version is, instead of putting them under Software/EA Sports/TW08/Courses/Courses, it is putting them under Software/CLASSES/VirtualStore/Machine/Software/EA Sports/TW08/Courses.
Any idea why TWCaddie08 is putting these entries in this other place instead of the standard one? This is most likely why the Clams launcher isn't seeing the installed courses....it is looking in the normal place. All courses work perfectly offline or in other LAN games..just the Clams launcher doesn't see the registry entries in this other location.
thanks.

dadoftwins > what operating system are you running? I have TWCaddie installed on 4 different PCs two running Kevin's favorite OS :P Vista 32 and two running XP. Every machine I have ever looked at the caddie is installing the courses to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA SPORTS\TIGER WOODS PGA TOUR 08\COURSES. TBM will need to comment how how the app is getting the registry hive to add the keys to but I would be willing to bet it is reading it from the registry entry for the game. The Classes Hive in software is for shell entries and dot net classes and TW does not use that hive at all. |

I'm using Vista Ultimate 32bit OS. No idea why TWCaddie is burying the reg entries in this other location. I am sure it's nothing to do with permissions, since when I install courses using an older installer that I still have, the reg entries go to the normal spot....it is only TWCaddie installed courses that go to this alternate location, and are then not seen by the Clams launcher. |

Kevin, that is interesting. I would like to see what you end up turning up. Normally it wouldn't matter a whole lot where in the registry the entries where put, provided normal query procedures where used to get the values. But I can see where EA would not do anything standard. If you want a hand researching let me know. |

Indeed, it doesn't seem to matter in most cases. I can play all my loaded courses just fine in offline mode or LAN mode....it is only when I play through the Clambakers launcher that this is an issue. |

The launcher should be able to be coded so that it looks to the registry just like the game does. It seems like a bit of a headache and a non standard way of dealing with the Vista registry for a single application. If the game can read the users registry keys to find the courses the launcher should be able to be programed to read the private keys as well. |
