I downloaded the zip file for the US Open Torrey Pines 2008 course and installed all the course files which were (cls,course,flag.dds,logo.dds,splash.tga,US Open Torrey Pines 2008,USOpen08final) and all the libraries which were all TCL files(Tw08x,Bridges,Buildings,Torry-x,TP_StructureX,Ts_n_Stakes 2004,USopenbanner) using the TW Caddie 08 v1.5, they was no other files in the zip file. The caddie says that all the files are installed true and there are no spaces in the course file locations where they shouldnt be, but the course isnt showing up in the game. I uninstalled the course and caddie, downloaded the caddie again and a different course, installed them, but the course is still not showing in the game :-( My system is vista 32 bit & everything is fully upto date. Can some1 help me PLEASE? |

Iv stumbled across a post that says it is very important to add TW07 stock libraries into TW08 game because some custom courses are using TW07 stock libraries which were not available for download at the time of the post, also it says to install the TW07 stock courses aswell. I dont have them installed in TW08 because i dont own a copy of TW07 but i can easly purchase a copy. Could this be a reason why some custom courses (eg- US Open Torrey Pines 2008) dont show in the game or does that have nothing to do with it? |

nothing to do with it - at least for Torrey Pines course, it doesnt require any 07 stock libraries (as seen on the required library list on the course download page)
a missing library - 07 stock or any other - would give you a missing library error when you installed the course
still sounds like a permissions/UAC type of issue to me
are the files installed where the TWCaddie says they are? ie - look in those folders with windows explorer to confirm |

Iv checked and everything is installed where the caddie says it is,turned off UAC but that didnt make the course appear. I also changed the file and folder permissions to the same as the permissions for the stock courses but that didnt help either. Im at a dead end now, cant think of anything else i can try. |

For the record I cant wait until Vista dissapears like Windows 2000 did. Ok now that im done venting about how much I hate Vista....
The problem has to do with your registry.....for some reason the new course records that are being added to the windows registery are not being read by Tiger Woods 2008. I need you to follow these directions and let me know what you see.
Click on your start menu go to the RUN command and type in regedit.
The go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses
In the folder there will be a list of reg keys with alot of numbers and letters. Open each folder and look to the right until you see the name of one of the courses you have installed from this site. Once you have located a course right click on the folder and select permissions. Make sure that FULL CONTROL is checked for your username. Im currently looking into a way for vista users to verify that the correct permissions are set for these keys. |

Ok,so iv checked the courses but the only ones that are there are the stock courses, none of the courses that iv downloaded and installed are there. hmmmmmmmmm
I decided to check CourseDownloads.com - TW Caddie 08 - Courses & Libraries aswell, when i did nothing actually was listed except, Name Type Data ab(Default) REG_SZ (value not set) Iv got no idea if something is supposed to be listed here or not, most other things seem to have something listed.
Im beginning to feel like i live on elm street and freddy kruger is after me because im having a right nightmare with bloody vista, LOL. Heard from 1 of my friends yesterday that microsoft had withdrawn windows vista, dont know if what he said was true though. |

I had the exact same problem and I did the following:
Went to control paneluser accountsturn user account control on or off
Turned off user account control and restarted computer
(per TrueBlueMich) went to regedithkeylocalmachinesoftwareeasports tigerwoods pga tour 08courses
and then set permissions for Users (home pc/users) to allow full control & read
I dont know much about computers so I dont know which of the steps caused it to start working for me. Good luck to you. |

Result, i uninstalled the 2 courses i downloaded first, then turned UAC off, rebooted, went into regedit, set the permissions on the courses folder for users(home pc/users) to full control & read, reinstalled the courses & BINGO they now appear in the game. Thanks for the help. :-) :-) :-) |
