Hiya, one of our members tested TW08 and TWCaddie08 on Win10. Looks like you have to do some compatibility settings simular as with Win8, but everything worked. We will update this post later with some detailed information. |

Update by our tester ( big thanks for testing ):
Tried to compile a course in Windows 10, but got no results. just the same as Windows 7 onwards. I then installed the Oracle VirtualBox software onto the Windows 10 and after installing all the required elements to the VirtualBox I managed to compile a course. So new Windows 10 will not stop us using TW2008 or the Course Architect. |

I updated to Windows 10 and fired up Tiger Woods and got an error that my graphic card was not supported for this game. Never saw that in Windows 7. I went back to Windows 7 right after. |

common error based on those trying it on Win8, there's workarounds if you look in the forum, likely a video card thing if you have a radeon one |

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and tried to run TW08, I got where it said EA Sports but no further, the screen just went blank. Tried to use the Task Manager to exit and it did't work either. I am going to uninstall and try installing again but I have the feeling that that won't work either. |

I have an Intel Iris Pro 5200 on my MacBook. I checked for updated video drivers and there weren't any. So it was either use windows 10 and have no Tiger Woods or a few other games, or go back to 7 and have all my games. I chose the latter. |

Same, video card not compatable, but always was in win 8.1 Nvidia Gfroce 670w/ 2 gig RAM, Set to run as Admin and Compatability mode, still no go......... looks like Win 10 is a bust for TW PGA 08, will be reverting back to 8.1 as Golf is a must play. If anyone finds a work around for this I will keep chacking back. Like the looks of 10 but can not do with out my daily dose of golf. |

DFV_Coyote, maybe you will find some help on link below:
http://www.coursedownloads.net/forum/posts.asp?post=10042&forum=11
In that link you will find two solutions, one posted by JoSummer and other posted by CutesyButton, not sure it will work for your card though.

Wrong typo |
|
Just "upgraded" to Win 10 and not clean install.
Lenovo E440 with nVidia GeForce GT 740M, running under Win 7 compability mode, no visual what-so-ever and hangs. Win XP SP3 compability mode, can run but then intermittently hangs. Only way is to power off the laptop and restarts. When resuming game, asking to resume yet will hang soon after.
Think is the video driver that''s causing the problem.
Will keep trying and see how to resolve this problem as 08 is the only game that I play.
But if this continues, means I can''t do so anymore!

In my home PC using Radeon card changed resolution to 1024 x 768(not an ideal solution) and 16-bit no crash.
Now on the laptop again maintaining "ideal" resolution of 1366 x 768 and again at 16-bit, no freezing so far.
Will update more if and when it crashes or hangs!
Have a nice day!

Hello not sure why you receive that error message. When you downloaded TWCaddie08, first you have to extract or unzip the downloaded TWCaddie08 zipfile. After that dubble click: Setup.exe....and TWCaddie08 will be installed on your system. On desktop right click the TWCaddie08 icon.....choose: Properties....compatibility...and check box: Run as administrator...and click: Apply
Also be sure to install the right version of TWCaddie ( 32 or 64 bit version ) You said you have a 64bit system. When you have win8 64bit... download this one: TW Caddie 08 x64 Beta
Some detailed help below, it is for Win8 but about same for Win10:
Some help for TWCaddie08, first you have to know you have a 32bit or 64bit system on Win8. Most people have a 64bit system. How can you find out you have a 32 bit or 64 bit system: First of all you have to go to your control panel in Win8: On your desktop on bottom left corner click the Start icon. This will bring you to the start screen. Now on your keyboard just type the text: Control panel Now on top right side side just below the typing box you will see the results it found for: Control panel. Now click the result on top and you will go in the control panel. 1.Touch or click on System and Security within Control Panel. Note: You wont see a System and Security link in Control Panel if your view is set to either Large icons or Small icons. If so, find System and touch or click on it, then skip to Step 3.
2.With the System and Security window now open, click or touch System.
3.With the System applet now open, titled View basic information about your computer, find the System area, located under the large Windows 8 logo. The System type will say either 64-bit Operating System or 32-bit Operating System.
When you found out go to TWCaddie08 download page on link below: http://www.coursedownloads.com/extras/category.asp?id=1&gameid=11 On that page you will see 2 download links: when you have win8 32bit.... download this one: TW Caddie 08 v1.5 when you have win8 64bit... download this one: TW Caddie 08 x64 Beta
When you are using TWCaddie08 to install courses: On desktop right click the TWCaddie08 icon.....choose: Properties....compatibility...and check box: Run as administrator...and click: Apply Option: When you don t have the icon on your desktop, you can also go to: C:\Program Files\CourseDownloads.com\TW Caddie 08 - Vista 64 ( On your desktop on bottom in taskbar you should have an icon: Explorer. ) ( Dubble click explorer icon and go to: C:\Program Files\CourseDownloads.com\TW Caddie 08 - Vista 64 ) And you can do the administrator thing on the TWCaddie08 icon you will find there. To put an icon on your desktop: go to: C:\Program Files\CourseDownloads.com\TW Caddie 08 - Vista 64 Now inside the folder (TW Caddie 08 - Vista 64) you will find the icon to start TWCaddie08 Go to the blue TWCaddie08 icon and right click it, and in list choose: Copy to....and in next list choose: Desktop (create shortcut) After that you will find the TWCaddie08 icon on your desktop. On desktop right click the TWCaddie08 icon.....choose: Properties....compatibility...and check box: Run as administrator...and click: Apply |

Over a week testing intermittent crash though after my last posting the next day for almost 6 hours in the office I was playing without any problems at all(I'm lucky to do so in the office! :P)
Therefore I conclude that I have to live with the intermittent crash once every few holes of playing on the Lenovo E440 with nVidia card. Not ideal but it works(for me) and even though I want to go back to Win 7, too lazy to downgrade.
At my home PC, no crash at all so far so am lucky there? But then I spend more time in office then home so really can't comment on that.
Will offer more views if it comes along.
Good Day!

Past couple of weeks Win 10 decided that I can't play TW08 anymore on my laptop as it crashes everytime when it reaches the page where it shows the hole's score. Basically it just hung there with a background "hissing" that's it so decided to downgrade back to Win 7 but then an accidental clicked means I lost everything on my hard disk(yeah I know my own fault for not looking properly) so am gonna download all the custom courses again for the past 6 months!!!
Anyway, it works flawlessly on my home PC which is also running Win 10 so can't decide what is the real cause for this!
Thanks for all the help and advise but think Redmond didn't consider us using programs more then 7 years old!
Regards,
McAlfie |

TW08 is the newest program on my PC. Nothing has evolved in point of personal computing since XP era, and I am quite happy with those old programs :) |
