How many of you are bothered by the first cut of Firestone 06? There is an issue of it playing like medium rough, instead of light. If enough of you want it fixed, Ill do it. But if nobody cares, Ill leave it as is.

Barry,
I am not sure whose textures you used for the 1
On each rough you create in the LC, you can control 3 settings of how the rough plays. On the default coefficients, the only difference between light rough and medium rough, is the velocity. Which from all my tests in the game, basically deals with the maximum height in which you can hit the ball. (I need to edit this, It also deals with the maximum settings of how far you can hit the shot) The entire game is a giant math / physics puzzle..........
For example on Augusta National I set all the rough on the course the same. Because that is how I wanted it to play…It plays with a Velocity of .8 (same as Medium) but the spin ratio’s was changed to simulate the courses, by using a ratio of .65 seems to work best. This creates a firmer shot in to the green from the rough, were you need to control the roll as well as guessing on the spin of the shot that you hit in to the green.
With the 1
Again this is just personal, but if I was creating Firestone, I would create the 1
Because the course is a championship venue, and has thick rough, I would make the main rough play just a tad harder than normal, and set the green speed to play a little faster than the avg course. On the flip side if the course was like a British Links course, I would make the greens slower and make the rough more penal than a US course.
I hope that helps you in making up your mind in weather to swap out the textures. I think this is really the fun part of the game, and it were it gives the designer a chance to set up how the course plays, and again it all based on personal judgement.......

Than I would suggest, since you created the course, you are the one who creates how it plays, so if you want to fix some of the details go for it. The course is for sure one of the more populars ones at the site……. |
