Couple of things!!

Firstly, thanks for posting the help in the FAQs about this subject - twas a great help. Having installed one course from the coursedownload section ok, there are some course downloads that clearly ask for a 2005 lib, and help here was much appreciated.

The daft thing is - apart from bridges which was specifically asked for in one download, I cant copy the 2005 architect libs without overwriting. Im sure I didnt install them from 2005 into 2006. Yet I copied the Fancourt files, and Fancourt now works flawlessly in 2006 (even looks better, or is that my imagination?)

What Im saying is, that most of the course code from 2005 appears to be already there somehow, and I dont know how it got there....!!

I have copied every library downloaded from this site into 2006 (from the 2005 lib). Could it have happened when i did this??

Just out of curiosity, did you download and install the 2006 Course Architect? If so, the Architect Libraries are bundled with that program and are installed in TW2006. The arch libraries for 2006 are exactly the same ones as the ones from 2005. So if you installed the 06 CA program, the arch libraries would already be there.

Nope - cant see the course architect for 2006 installed as yet (although its on my to-do list). Ill double check, but Im pretty sure its not there.

Ive just played another 2005 course on 2006 (Sherwood 2005)- again it worked perfectly. God alone knows when I installed these libs!!!! I know I installed the two files from the course management prog, but i just dont know where the stock libs have come from!!! Osmosis, probably!!

Can anyone list a few of the stock libs that should be there from 2005, and ill double check to see if I can locate where I got them from!!!

Its unusual to complain when things are working.....

You can see all of the Stock libraries by going to this link. Every 2005 course listed will have a corresponding Stock library. You can also look down in the Libraries section for the libraries with a 0.00 MB size. Those will be the 2005 Stock libraries.

Thanks for the list - Ive checked and I reckon they are all there! I still cant find the course architecht - does it install itself on a full install, cos Im sure i did a full install when i put TW2006 on my hd.

Ive just uninstalled TW2005 - and all the courses from 2005 that Ive put into 2006 work fine. Ive also transferred all the libs I downloaded from this site into the 2006 library in case I needed them in future.

Thanks for the help again - much appreciated.

PS: In my haste to transfer everything, I installed the 2005 St Andrews course into 2006.... I want to get rid of it, but want to delete the correct course! The 2006 version is labelled Old Course St Andrews, whereas the 2005 version is just labelled as St Andrews - ?? Is that correct??!!

The course architect is not on any of the CDs that come with the game. It is a separate download from the EA Sports web site.

As for your question about St Andrews, I am not exactly sure about the naming. I believe you are correct, but I am not 100% sure.

I forgot to install the Pebble Beach 2005 library before removing TW2005. Ive now reinstalled TW2005, and tried to install the Pebble Beach 2005 lib into the TW2006 via the course utilities prog as before.

Only now when I try to install this lib, I get an error message saying something like this file needs to be installed in a different directory. I tried every other kind of lib from 2005 again just to make sure it wasnt just that one file, and of course it warned me of overwriting (which means of course that it would have installed it had i gone on).

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, which directory should this lib go to? Is it because theres another pebble beach course in tw2006??

Any assistance gratefully received!!
STOP PRESS!!!

Ive done it!! Dont for the life of me know why, but I had to resort to trying to install the PB2005 lib in the EA Sports directory, and somehow its loaded in and has been recognised!!??
Im pleased, but puzzled as to why!! This was the only lib that caused an issue about WHERE it was installed. However, despite the fact that i did install it in a different directory ( a root directory to boot), TW2006 found it, listed it, and the game i downloaded (Muifield 2006) ran first time without problems.

If anyone can explain why this issue arose, Id be happy to understand it!!
