I have not yet publish a course, but have been playing with a number of ideas for a fantasy layout...I have spent the past several weeks getting used to all the tools, creating a hole and playing it to see how it all works... I want to make an entire course, but am unsure what the best method would be to do this in step form and hope someone could advise me. Should I layout all the holes then work on the terrain after or should I do the terrain first. It seems difficult when tring to put a large lake in the middle of the course then get the water to be level based on a random terrain, should I start with a flat terrain and make all the level changes after that? Also one ohter question how do you make a couse that has a sea side coast line with high cliffs? I cant seem to get the water to go right out to the end of the layout? I have searched a lot of the forums and tutorials but not much luck with the steps....Any help on this or other advise on getting started on terrain layouts would be much appreciated. |

I draw all my holes, then position them on a flatish plot. Most of the elevation work I do my self basically after I ve shaped bunkers and hazards.
If an elevated green is called for Id do that with the bunker/hazard shaping. Doing it after would result in destroying all your green elevation work.
Its tough to get your water right to the edge of your plot, but combined with the right pano and the distance from an actual hole to the edge you can achieve a nice butt fit.
GL dude keep going
