| I know of another site that has that if you are interested. It isnt a feature that we have really looked at adding. |

That is the whole reason we dont have a shoutbox. There are only 3 of us that run this site, all within the US. What happens if a flame war starts up in the shoutbox during the night when no staff is there to monitor it? At least over at TWC they have staff from other countries that can monitor it more regularly. It is not a feature that we have really been interested in adding. It is a good feature at TWC, but it is not something we feel would add to our site. It would just add more work for us, which is the last thing that we need right now.
We have a very good relationship with TWC. While we both host courses (and so in some ways are competition for each other), we also work together with each other. We do not want to create a clone site of TWC. We like to have our unique features just as they have theirs.
bb9, I do know that Instigatordj001 is registered at TWC. I saw several shout comments made by him when our site went down, many of them laughing about our misfortune (comments that I personally did not appreciate considering how much time and effort we put into this site).

Its really sad, Jeff that you think that the comments I made were in jest, but I was actually trying to find out what happened to the site, and no-one could tell me why......you read one comment, made yours, and then left while i was trying to ask you what had happened to the site.
But here are a few random facts:
1. My homepage is currently and has been since I found THIS site more than a year ago.
2. If you look at my TWC post amount compared here you will also notice that I spend my time HERE.
3. Ive contributed LOADS more to THIS site (5 Courses.)
Compared to TWC (1 .doc and 1 .dds).
4. I joined Coursedownloads long before TWC
5. coursedownloads will and will always be my complete golfing website
I actually posted my simple question and poll as I wanted a quicker way to chat to members that are online on the forums that is all.
I actually mentioned the cost of the shoutbox as I wanted to know what the actual cost was!! IE if there were members that wanted it, we could make donations towards it.
All the information in your post about the actual logistics behind running one, may seem obvious to you, but I on the other hand wanted to know.
I have had crashes myself and Ive had to fix em all too which is definitely not a laughing matter. (Lost 30GB of all my backed up work, mail, etc.)

I know you frequent here often and that is why your comments in the TWC shout area were hurtful and they were not taken incorrectly. I wish I had saved the exact chat, but your comments went like this:
Someone asked about what happened to the site. Your reply was It went BOOM! LOL. I made a comment that we were having server problems and that we were working on it and your reply was hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!. Sorry, bud, but there is no other way I can take those comments. We bust our butts to put a good site out there and then have people that we think support the site go elsewhere and laugh when we have major problems like we did. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Is course downloads.com down? boom
I might be wrong with the exact phrase used, but explain to me:
Why on earth would i open my homepage to track the downloads on my latest course,> not working, then go to a site I hardly frequent and flat out laugh at you and the site....it just doesnt make sense bud...
