I played my first round at Paradise Cove last night, and I cant imagine that EA has no more pride in their product than to include this amatuer piece of crap. For 05 they put some nice work into Emerald Dragon and Red Mtn., but I think they just got lazy this year. Papa Lani, Nikko Gardens, Bali GCC...all are WAY better. I think EA should hire one of these designers to create the fantasy courses for 07. Id been wondering when complacency would set in now that EA has the golf sim monopoly...
Just for the record, I didnt buy the game for Paradise Cove, and the real courses are very nice. |

Look at it this way. What kind of reviews would this course get if it showed on coursedownloads.com? Can you imagine Danut or Hyno putting out something like this? The answer is No. They have too much pride in their work. |

"What exactly would EA change, monopoly or not, it is a golf game, thus they cannot change the game, we are doin what we are supposed to be doin, golfin. They cannot change the game play, it does not get much more realistic than it is now, and Jebus! in your opinion you do not like a course, I did not like Red Mountain Creek in 05 but I did not start bashing the course. Paradise Cove is a console course from 04 along with Greek Isles, well made, and yes I think Steve or Chris would love to have their name on it" |
I stand by my course-bashing...EA is capable of far better. But I admit the monopoly comment was a bit rash. I think the good folks at EA are sincere about producing the best golf game possible. For 07 id rather see one more real course instead of two fantasy courses. I suppose we shouldnt attempt to speak for Danut or Hyno.

EA released a couple of different course add-on disks for TW99, but none since. Maybe they werent profitable. Or they have decided it was better to spend their time on improving the game in general. But it WOULD be really nice to see.

Ya, I guess that was kind of a tongue-in-cheek suggestion. It would be cool to see someone take on an EA standard, but not worth the time unless you could make a big improvement. |

"I messed up big time, I didnt know their were 2 fantasy courses. I thought u were complaining about the Greek course. So my comments above are about that course. I just played Paradise Cove and it is one of the single worst displays of golf I have ever seen, and really there is no reason to release something this stupid. " |
Glad you finally got to experience Paradise and agree with my original post. It seems to have been slapped together in a hurry compared to the other courses (incl. Greek). Maybe the reason ea realeased Paradise stems from the pending lawsuit against ea by its programmers.

"Yeah, Paradise Cove is certainly not for the novice cybergolfer, thats for sure. However, once you get the conservative swing in play, know where to land the ball on each shot, and use all the tactics in the whole, wide world, you can easily pass that course with a relatively low score. It just takes more thought with that over a regular, normal style course." |
My complaint is not with the playability of the course...nothing wrong with making it tough enough to challenge the best, as ea has done with the all its fantasy courses since 04. My complaint is that it appears that not nearly as much work went into this one as the others. btw, ive enjoyed all the others, incl. Greek (talk about a tough test at over 9000yds). |

This may be true for cybergolf, but in real life, one with reasonable golf skills can still shoot decently on a first trip through a course, which cannot be said for the majority of EAs fictional designs. That said, among the EA fictionals I do enjoy Predator & Greek Isles you can have the rest of em. |

Interesting anecdote, Hyno, and perhaps a bit of the inspiration behind Carolina Starling as well. I for one am eager to see what real courses youll have for us for 06. Thus far, I have heard of nobody indicating that they shall attempt Hoylake (aka Royal Liverpool, site of the Open in 2006). Sorry to perhaps pin this expectation on ya, but you are one who has raised tha bar, and your collection of other Open rota venues is quite impressive. |

I didnt like the course also, because I got tired of swiming to each hole, I only seen one boat and it had a hole in the bottom LOL. I glad I read you can remove stock courses, now I can put it where it should been the whole time in file 16. |
