Well, its taken me long enough to find this site, but Im here now, having been through the TW series since 2001.

I found the site having at last found a decent site that has downloadable courses. Ive just downloaded, set up, and played the Augusta National v1.1 - superb!! Having downloaded the course, I thought I should register as the site looks really active with loads of downloadable courses around.

I posted this topic, as I didnt see (unless I missed it) a welcome forum. Maybe other new folk could use this thread to introduce themselves? If such a thread already exists, please accept my apologies, and move my post to the appropriate place!!

Hope to hear from some folk later!

Welcome,

Of course you can delete the zip files but you would be better burning them to CD/DVD in case you ever need to reinstall the game or your whole system, otherwise you will have to download them all over again.

Next back up will have the zip files on there for sure!

Ive stored the unzipped files in a custom folder - i presume then that those files need to stay where they are and shouldnt be deleted.

Thanks for your reply!

Firstly, I should like to say just how pleased I am to have found this site. Ive looked at a few courses already, and the superb work here has installed fresh life into a game I had just finished. Its ok to replay the courses on the disc from time to time, but to be able to play fresh courses like this has made the game imortal!

I have had only one problem over two courses which I should like some advice over. I downloaded Gleneagles and Carnoustie - two courses I have played myself - and on both I am experiencing graphic drop-out. On the hole overlay, there are significant amounts of black which indicates some graphic bits are missing. On the course itself, its obvious to see that theres something not right.

Please dont get me wrong - I am not criticising the course designer. Its either my graphics card that doesnt like one of the libraries, or a library has become corrupted somehow? Carno1 and Carno2 libraries are common to both courses, so I am wondering whether i should remove them, redownload them and then reinstall into TW2005?

Any suggestions to help rectify this would be most welcome.

Having seen all this wonderful stuff on the site, its inspired me to look at the course desinger myself - but I doubt Id have the skill to match some of the work on here!

update:

Thought this might help explain the problem:

Gleneagles course - holes 1, 4, and 5 for example, I see fairway, rough where appropriate, galleries standing on a small path, bunkers, and water. Surrounding the fairway on the hole overlay window is a huge expanse of black. Visually, on the course theres nothing there except the backdrop showing through.

I reinstalled carnou1 and carnou2 libs, and the Gleneagles course source. I even reinstalled TW2004 libraries in case that helped. To no avail!! I also tried running the course in a lower resolution which made no difference.

Graphics card - ATI 9800 pro
System mem - 512k
Plenty of hard disc space
Athlon 2600 chip

Once again, if anyone can throw light on what might be doing this, Id be very grateful.

Cheers!!
