I followed the tutorial guide to include my photo in the circular logo area (next to the players & score), in lieu of the standard logos and canned player faces.

I did this successfully, but was surprised that only I can see it. Other online players see a default EA logo, not my picture.

Is that as good as it gets? Anyway to get my graphic into the online game so others can see it?

The only way others could see it is if you sent them the file you created and they placed it in the same place as you have it. Even then there is no guarantee that it would show up properly. It should, but I cant guarantee it.

Thank you Jeff. I suppose I reveal my lack of full understanding the nature of the web based interaction. My character (gameface), swing actions, etc. apparently upload live for others to see, but not certain embeded features. That is probably wise of the software designers, as one could only imagine some crude, and/or offensive abuses that some may take with additional freedoms.

Related to the face in the game I managed to apply the same technique and apply it to customizing a golfball. There are a few balls i.e Titlest that are not available in the game. However, a Titlest ball label is in a ball file as a .dds. I copied it over a default EA ball and now play a Titlest. Again, only I can see it, and Im unable to share my creativity with others.

If you send your DDS files to other people they MAY be able to see them, I cannot guarantee this. You see, what is happening is you are creating CUSTOM graphics. Since your friends do NOT have these custom graphics on their systems, it makes sense that they would not be able to see them. BUT if you send them these graphics, via email or some other way, and they put them into their game the same way you did, they MAY be able to see them because then they would have a copy of the same files that you do. That is the ONLY possible way they will see the same graphics that you are.

I cant make it much plainer that that. If you are using a graphic for a ball named myball.dds and the other person you are playing with doesnt have a file named myball.dds on their system, they will not be able to see what you are seeing. The files do not automatically transfer from one machine to another.
