Having read some very negative and disrespectful comments by Guests I would suggest that all comments should be by members only and the names be submitted and posted with the comments.
It is disgraceful that courses are slammed by anonymous, cowardly individuals, who will discourage new designers, which does not help the community.

Bob, we have tried the login approach and comments dropped ALOT. Course Source was set up to be diffrent then other sites that force you to register to leave comments or to download. Not that theres anything wrong with that, personnaly I HATE regestering to use a site. SO I dont see us forcing people to register to leave comments but we do however monitor the comments daily and any WE FEEL are disrespectful are deleted, all the site staff and a couple others can delete a comment without having to ask another admin.
As for new designers getting negative comments, thats a two headed monster there. If people continually tell someone the course is sweeet and the designer never moves forward because no one tells them that they need more work who is that benifiting, certanily not the designer or the community.
On the other hand it could move the architect right out of making courses all together and that is not benifiting anyone either.
As for tracking comments, 9 out of 10 real negative comments posted by Guests we can track down who posted it, and will remove thier privlage to post comments. |

Thanks for explaining your policy on course comments. I do understand the issues and agree it is difficult. I was just annoyed that a small minority of comments were unwarranted and disrespectful. Positive critism never hurt anyone but being spiteful is demeaning.

| After further review we have decided to only allow members to post comments in the course section. This is temp until we can compare how much it effects comments, if they drop to much we will allow all to post again. |
