Well I just got back from a trip to Indiana/Chicago area to visit some family. While I was there I had the opportunity to meet Trublumich (Kevin) and Huntinglepoard (Dave) for the first time in person for a round of golf on Sunday. We each got off one tee shot then the golf gods conspired with the weather gods resulting in some nasty stuff. Figures- it was the one day while I was there that rained. Being the die hard golfers we are we tried to wait it out. Ugh, they didnt serve beer there. After about an hour of down poor the course more or less resembled a lake with even more nasty stuff on its way. They finally closed the course and so we went in search of another game, involving balls of course.
We stopped by this bowling alley, and played a few games of pool. Kevin was whining that he stank at pool- none of us argued that. Pool got old and so we moved onto even bigger balls. Bowling. As the pitchers of beer emptied the competion got heated. Kevin talked a lot of smack that he never backed up. I think we played 4 games but at that point I couldnt count. We each won one game and kevin and I tied another. I wish we got a printout of the scorecards to post on the site. After all, this was for the WRS bowling championship.
All in all I think we had a blast. Although we didnt get a round of golf in, it was cool to finally meet some of these guys that Ive known on here for some time.
Im looking forward to the next time. Maybe we can meet some more of you guys.
Well its back to work on the site, we still got a server move looming over our heads.

Well said AJ.... And my two cents from the events...
1. In our brief golf outing, Kevin managed to hit two trees and go OB. AJ hit a tree too, so weve obviously been playing too much cyber golf.
2. The pool was interesting.... AJ plays every week and if youd like to see what happens when he misses.... I can only suggest you imagine a pool cue slamming against the ground (Craig Stadler style from the mid-eighties).
3. The bowling was quite heated. AJ claimed that he sucked and Kevin talked more smack then Jordan in his prime. It turned out that all four games came down the last frame. With AJ getting two strikes and an 8 for the tie game.
All in all, it was awesome to put a face behind the avatar. And on a quick note all of us sport the goatee, and I have confirmation that JSJarvis does as well. Looks like we have an official company policy now :).
And whats this server move that you keep talking about :)? |
