Hi Sharkmeat, I moved this to a new topic (hope you dont mind).
Anyway, I have only had to reinstall once. When I did, I made sure my custom courses/libraries were not deleted on the uninstall I always keep them in a different directory structure anyway. Then, i readded them using the course utilities. Its not fun and very tedious, and perhaps Jorgens installer would help (I dont use it at this time), but it worked for me.
So, if you have to reinstall, copy all of your custom courses and libraries to a new directory structure. Uninstall the game. Reinstall the game. Use Jorgens installer or the course utilities to re-add the courses into the new installation.
If there is a better way to do this - let me know so Sharkmeat and others dont waste time :). |

Yeah I use the CLsetup to reinstall the coures and libs have them on a backup CD, along with a save copy of the TW2004 folder in my docments folder. I have and Idear that might work with the registery!.
If you make a restore point just befor you uninstall the game. then after you install the game restore the system to that point befor you uninstalled TW2004. I,m woundering would it put the register path back to the game as it was?. I may try it with my second system and see what happens. It might take me a while I been in the dumps the last few days. BTW no problem on th change ).

Good idea with the registry restore! I hesitate for most people to do it because the registry can be finicky and scary to some. However, if you are comfortable and it works, it would be a huge reinstall time saver (that install takes long enough as it is :)). Let us know. |
