Occasionally, when the player hits the ball, there is a slight delay before the sound is heard. But it doesnt do this all the time. I have a Sound Blaster Live! sound card. Any ideas?

Yes, you have your graphic setting to high try turning them down and see if htat doesnt help the problem.
