Hi Everyone:
I have played some of the courses again that I have sound problems with and I have discovered that the sound problems as listed in my last thread occur when I am playing in the Stroke game mode, however when I play in the Practice game mode, all of the missing sounds are there and can be heard clearly.
I dont understand this because on some of the courses that I play in the Stroke mode, all of the sounds are there and clear.
Thanks and I hope this additional information will give you more insight into this problem And I look forward to your feedback.
Regards.

golfcart03,
How many courses is this happening on? If it is happening on all courses I would recommend a reinstall of the game. If it is only on certain courses then it may be the courses themselves.
I have seen a similar problem before on select courses, but it is usually isolated to particular courses. I have seen some posts in the past about the problem and I believe it is a result of overlapping sounds. If this is what you are seeing there isnt much you can do to fix the problem. The problem I have seen fixes itself normally on the next shot (sounds are only gone for 1 shot or so). |

Hi Jeff:
This has occurred on several courses including some courses that have been converted from other games!!
Generally, this usually happens on the back nine, and although the sounds of the club striking the ball and the swish of the club being swung are there and can be heard clearly, the sounds of the ball landing on fairways and greens, in water, bunkers, or dropping into the cup are either missing or cannot be heard.
In other courses, some from the same designers, all of the sounds are there and can be heard clearly.
Thanks for your response and if you have any other suggestions, I would be happy to try them. (I just re-installed my OS and everything else about two weeks ago.)
Regards.

The problem existed in TW2002 as well and there was a small fix that seemed to work. When you first notice a sound is not playing, open up the sound options (bottom left corner menu icon, Options, Sound). Move one of the sliders a little to the Ambient Sounds slider a little to the left and then back to where it was originally. For some reason, this works. I had a few courses do this in the past and this seems to provide a temporary fix. I dont know exactly why, but it does.
Give that a shot and see if it fixes your problem. It sounds like you may be playing some old 2002 courses in 2003 and if that is the case this fix will probably work. Unfortunately you have to do this each time you encounter the loss of those sounds. |

Hi Jeff:
Thanks for your feedback.
Sorry it has taken me this long to respond to you.
The courses that I am experiencing the problem were designed in TW2003, and some that were converted from PGA 2000. I also tried your suggestion about moving the ambient sound slider, but that didnt fix the problem.
I also downloaded and tried both the latest drivers and older drivers for my sound card And, I have even tried installing my Sound Blaster Live sound card from another system to see if this would correct my sound problem.
Unfortuniately, none of these things have worked and I am still experiencing the sound problem.
Anyway, Thanks again for your feedback and if you should think of anything else that might assist me in correcting this problem, I would appreciate your continued input.
Regards.
