yes, you compile the course in the CA, it results in a coursename.tcr file in your TW06 CA folder
you can leave it there and add the rest of the files, but likely you won't be playing it in tw06
so copy the coursename.tcr to your tw08 course folders, into a new folder, and add course.txt, flag, logo, splash, cls folder if wanted
zip the contents of that folder up, and that's your course.zip ready to install into 08

I tried compiling and it wasn't appearing in CA06 or TW06. The only way I was able to play it was to install the save file with TW caddie, however trees are not showing up when I play (even though tree shadows are there). CA06 is crashing when I try to compile tree shadows. Do you know what might be going on?
Thanks! |

Ok, now Ill speak up. I am confused. What are you trying to do? Install your Completed course into 06, 08? Are you building a course and trying to test what you have built so far? I know you said your completed course. Could you redescribe what it is EXACTLY you are trying to do?
If you have completed building a course, one would think you would have compilied it and play tested it, hundreds of times, as I and other designers do...
Peace..
I HAVE SPOKEN!!... lol Nahh Im just playen.. :) |

I have finished it and want to start test playing it before I upload it. When I am compiling it gets about 3/4 of the way through and then CA crashes. I believe it is a problem with the tree lighting because when I leave that box unchecked it does not crash. However I still have the issue of not being able to find the course file after it has been compiled.
I have gotten my course to play by installing the save file via caddie but the trees will not load (i am using a stock library from 08). What's strange is when I install this way there is tree lighting just no trees.
btw do you have any tree and plant libraries you reccomend, I would perfer not to use the stock library because it is such a large file.
Thanks! |

About 5300. I tried deleting all the trees except for one to see if I somehow had too many, but i still encoutered the same problem.
Also course info says I have libraries in use that I dont any more (i only have three right now). Some of these libraries are uninstalled, could this somehow be the problem? |

Not sure this is the problem, but you can t compile courses with Win7 or Vista. You will have to compile your courses on Xp when you have win7 home version. When you have win7 pro or ultimate, you can use windows virtual pc. |

That must be the problem, I have 7. I will try it on my other computer that has xp and see if that sloves the problem. |

So I got my course to play with trees on my computer with HP but I never did find the course file in the CA folder. Now I have a new problem(s): one, the gallery won't show (even though there is sound) and two, I have small sections on my course that have textures like the old tv "snow".
I am assuming the gallery problem is because I am not compiling correctly and that the texture problem is because of a corrupt land shape. I have tried deleting and relaying the shapes but I still have this problem. I will continue to try to fix the texture problem unless any of you have expirenced this before and know a solution.
Thanks! |

added about lost file |
|
you need a cls file to make galleries appear...the snowy effect is because you have too many points on one type of texture...ie too many shapes of same texture...trying changing some roughs or deep roughs and see if it fixes it...if you use one rough for your plot and then use it alot on the course, it gets too many points and it goes away or gets fuzzy.
you had mentioned trees...you can only use stock trees, no other option..Id use the stock 08 trees, I personally cloak all 06 libs and only use 08 ones unless absolutely necessary...06 trees dont work as well in the 08 game
oh yeah....as for the course folder....I have a file marked tcas and inside every course has its own file....that makes it easier to find it....your compiled course is wherever your original tca is cause it saves it to the same place |

I was able to get rid of the snow by optimizing the detail of all the shapes in the trouble spots. How do I create the .cls file for the galleries? Everything seems to be playing fine with the way Im installing my course except for the galleries and now some objects (tees and stakes) do not have color. |

you can create your own cls file - but few do that unless they add animals etc not already there
just open any of the Stock course folders (BOS,SAW etc - any of the 3 letter cap names) and copy one so there is a cls folder in your course folder, which has a cls file in it
any course somewhat similar in types of terrain etc - avoids gallery zombies in trees, water etc etc |

You can use a CLS folder from one of the TW08 stock courses. for example you can use the CLS from stock course Harbour Town. Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses\HAR
Inside course folder HAR, you will see a folder: CLS
Copy this folder CLS and put the folder CLS in a zipfile together with your coursefile ( tcr file ). After that install this zipfile in TW08 with TWCAddie08, and the CLS folder will be added. |

yes - there are no registry entries for the cls folder - nothing to 'install' if there is a folder and file - the game sees it |
