Have any of the brilllant minds (;Jorgen)that have made things like the cl tool, tried to figure out why we cant compile with win7 home? I am shouting out to anyone who could please take a look? I just cant afford win7 pro right now.. Thanks in advance..
PS. I just recently bought win7home, why I didnt check and get win7Pro when I had the chance at only about 30bucks more is beyond me...:(;
I am itching to design again and since I compile my tca hundreds of times, having someone else do it, is not an option.. I know this is a shot in the dark and I will have to pony up the money soon more than likely but it never hurts to ask..

Hiya Larry,
I think you can easy upgrade from Win7Home to Win7Pro with: Windows Anytime Upgrade It used to be around 90$ to upgrade from win7home to pro I have sent you a personal mail with some more info. |

well, I got win7 home to compile without crashing.. Just don't check the "tree lighting box" which I haven't done in years now anyway but this is what I come up with in the course.. |

Yes at the beginning compiling will work, because you have a smalle course architect file. But as your course progresses, and the filesize grows, then compiling will not work anymore on Win7.
When you try a finished coursearchitect file from one of your previous courses, then compiling will not work on win7 |

You are not a year behind Larry, you just upgraded from Xp to win7, so it is all new for you. We all had the same questions when we upgraded to Win7, we all learn from each other. |

I was told you couldn't compile in win7 home edition, and since that's all I have right now, I was experimenting and got these results, as I said, the pano doesn't show and the water reflections are wrong and sometimes the trees look like blocks till I hit the E key but I did compile it and install it, whether that helps anyone or not I don't know. It doesn't help me, I know that.. lol
I still have my XP on my old computer, I guess if I hooked that up, I could probably design on that, then when done, just download on a usb and install it on win7 computer?

It`s been said you need Virtual Machine to compile with Win7, but you need Win7 Pro or Ultimate I think , I just got Win7 Pro and it`s a pain in the arse when your used to XP.
Mine rebooted yesterday ? why I don`t know and I lost Ccleaner Pro version :(; not good reinstalled now |

Yes Larry exactly, once you compiled your course on Xp, put the compiled course on a USB stick, and you can install it on your Win7 system. |

"will 08 work and compile on windows 8?" |
Today i tried to compile a course on Win8 The course compiled, but when i tried to play it in TW08 the course crashed on loading screen. I received this message: TW08 stopped working and needs to close
So it is not working on Win8. Another problem in Win8 is that you can't use Virtual Pc with XP mode, it is not supported on Win8:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/a0a8ccd4-6f54-41bc-b679-7ae23ac1e653/windows-xp-mode-on-windows-8-pro?forum=w8itprovirt
So the only option on win8 is to compile your course on a system with xp |

You will need XP no matter what. In W7 you can compile but no pano and no water reflection. I use this for testing. You can run XPMode in W7 but you need Pro, Ultimate, or Enterprise to run that. Windows 8 still has virtual pc in Pro or Enterprise editions but I have not tried XP on it yet. You will also need compliant hardware to run HyperV. The new virtual mode in Windows 8 is called HyperV. |
